The latest disaster

I mentioned this in the notes of "Movies with Vampires" but it's confirmed: I have carpal tunnel. My regular doctor wasn't sure what was going on and sent me to a specialist who mostly deals with arthritis to rule out that I don't have lupus or arthritis. I don't. I have carpal tunnel. Yay for me. So much for being a writer for a while... I see my specialist again for an appointment on August 5th and we'll keep talking treatment options then. He gave me a cortisone shot last time which was supposed to help, but it didn't do anything. I've heard there's shock therapy and then some other methods as well as surgery so I really don't know what the next step will be. Until then trying to take my ibuprofin to help with the swelling and I have exercises I'm supposed to be doing 3 times a day but... they hurt, so I'm not inclined to cause myself more pain. Need to get over it and work on doing them though. Blargh.

Also that project I was working on for my sister? I fucked up royally. I didn't work on it this week because of pains and I was burning myself out on everything and blah blah... she asked me why I wasn't working on it and I explained that I had carpal tunnel. Long story short: I'm fired from the project, my mom is pissed at me, and I've disappointed my sister.

It's better to just have one job now for the sake of my hands but I just feel bad. I should've sent an email like I planned explaining that I had carpal tunnel and I can't type as much as I'd wanted to. But I didn't so now I've made myself look bad and been shitty and unprofessional. Argh.

Think I'll buy alcohol after work and have myself a pity party afterwards.
