Summary: In the spirit of Halloween, Tsuzuku convinces a reluctant MiA to explore the run-down library that hasn't been used since the gruesome murder there fifty years ago. MiA assumes the biggest problem will be warding off Tsuzuku's attempts to have sex with him in the library but the two get more than they bargained for when they step inside.
Author's Comment: I meant to post this last night but it's still Halloween in the US so guess I'm safe! MiA and Tsuzuku are in their Theatrical Blue Black costumes.

The rundown mansion-turned-library on the outskirts of town had been the subject of ghost stories since MiA’s grandparents were children. Teenagers always dared their friends to go inside overlooking the fact that it was private property, that trespassing was breaking and entering since the library had been closed for over fifty years. Ever since the head librarian went batshit crazy one night, slaughtered five of his employees and three patrons, then after writing a cryptic note on the wall in his last victim’s blood about how the spirits made him do it, he committed suicide by hanging himself in the men’s room.

Huffing, MiA crossed his arms over his chest. “Why the hell would I want to go some dumpy old building? The ‘ghosts,’” he said the word sarcastically, air quotes included, “won’t get you but the asbestos or the rotting flooring will not to mention the dust.”

Tsuzuku grinned as he slid his arm around MiA’s bare waist and pressed him close. “Because, beautiful, it’s Halloween.”

“So watch a horror movie and eat candy like everyone else does,” MiA retorted, smoothing down his costume. It wasn’t that he was afraid of the building. He’d heard so many stories about the library over the years that that was all they were: stories.

Tsuzuku’s fingers caressed the skin above his shorts sending a shiver of pleasure down his spine. “What’s the matter, you scared the ghost of a mad librarian will get you? Want to paint this sexy body red?”

MiA rolled his eyes. “Please, I’m more afraid of you wanting to fuck me in there.”

“Is that a hint?” Tsuzuku squeezed his ass then backed MiA against the wall. He grasped the blonde’s hips as he pressed closer, firmly sandwiching the slender blonde between his body and the wall.

MiA gave his boyfriend a withering look. What a perv. This was the perfect chance to tease him though. “Tsu, there’s a reason I’m not dressed as a nun.” He slid his hands up Tsuzuku’s chest then wrapped his arms around his neck, false blues holding false greens, and feeling Tsuzuku tighten his grip on his hips. “To make you so hungry for me that you can’t keep your hands off me.” He whispered seductively as he hugged him tighter, seeing arousal and slight confusion flash across Tsuzuku’s face.

Tsuzuku arched his pierced eyebrow. “You dressed up like this all for me? You yell at me when I can’t keep my hands off you though.” He licked his lips then grabbed MiA’s ass. “Mm, especially your great ass.”

The blonde smirked then shoved him back. “I wore this to fuck in our apartment not some shitty old building.” He adjusted his tiny shorts as Tsuzuku pouted. “Besides, the place will be full of teenagers. Why do you want to deal with that?” Especially since Tsuzuku was hopeless and definitely would want to fuck in the building. Neither were good about having quiet sex so there was a high chance that either teenagers or a police officer would catch them in the act. While Tsuzuku probably wouldn’t care if someone caught them fucking MiA would be mortified about being seen in such a compromising position.

“True.” Tsuzuku smirked then gabbed MiA and tossed him over his shoulder, smacking his ass when the blonde squeaked in surprise at the sudden manhandling. “I better appreciate this gorgeous outfit before I try to change your mind.”

“Pervert,” MiA grumbled as Tsuzuku carried him into the bedroom.

“You wouldn’t have dressed up for me if you weren’t one too,” Tsuzuku teased as he squeezed the blonde’s ass again.

MiA didn’t have a good response to that.

Groaning, MiA slumped back against the seat. “I can’t believe I agreed to come here.” Tsuzuku had started nagging him to go as soon as they caught their breath. MiA pushed a pillow into his face in retaliation. That hadn’t been enough to deter his boyfriend. Finally MiA caved and agreed to go, something he now regretted as he looked out the window. Same dark gloomy building with the low fence (useless) and several “no trespassing” signs that the teenagers always ignored. Or stubborn brats like his boyfriend. Making a face MiA got out of the car and closed the door. Grinning, Tsuzuku grabbed his hand. He looked far too happy to be here. My boyfriend is insane, MiA sighed to himself.

“Ready to go in?”

“Might as well get it over with.” Tsuzuku would see that it was merely an abandoned building then they could go home, watch movies, and eat candy. Maybe even have more sex. Dating a massive pervert could be a pain, sometimes literally, but sex with Tsuzuku was the best MiA had ever had. He’d been hooked from the first night although he did wish the other man would keep his hands to himself when they were out in public.

Tsuzuku chuckled as he led MiA to the fence, the soft glow from MiA’s shoes providing some illumination. He gave the blonde a boost to get over the fence then dropped down next to him. “Damn, can you wear something like this everyday? You look so fucking hot.” He leaned back, eyes raking over every inch of MiA’s body even though he’d thoroughly explored it earlier.

“You’d spend the day slobbering over me and trying to fuck me.” Which he usually did anyway but it’d be worse than usual. A sudden breeze made MiA shiver and wonder if he should’ve worn a jacket since there wasn’t much to his costume. A tiny shirt that Tsuzuku joked was his sports bra, little black shorts, loose leg warmers, then another piece of fabric that tied around his waist and a second that was similar to a jacket but wasn’t warm or covering enough to be considered one. The price of being sexy.

“Trying?” Tsuzuku winked then smacked MiA’s ass earning a huff and a glare. “Didn’t have to try hard, beautiful. You know you love the sex.”

Rather offended by the implication that he was easy, MiA ignored him until they reached the doors of the library. The padlock on the door had obviously been picked. No surprise, he wondered why the city even bothered trying to keep the library doors locked anymore. He headed towards the door then paused as he realized Tsuzuku wasn’t by his side. Ugh, he was probably going to jump out from behind something and try to scare him. “Tsu?” MiA called then relaxed as he saw his boyfriend’s long coat disappearing around the corner. Wondering if he’d seen something interesting MiA followed him then blinked as he saw what had caught Tsuzuku’s attention. One of the first floor windows had been broken by someone jumping out of it. There was glass on the ground along with a wig.

Tsuzuku nudged the wig with the toe of his boot. “Think the ghosts scared them off?”

MiA rolled his eyes. “Their friends or their imagination scared them. Are we going inside or not?” He asked, wanting to get this little adventure over with.

Tsuzuku draped his arm around MiA’s waist. “Don’t worry about the ghosts, beautiful. I’ll protect you.” He winked then dropped his hand to MiA’s ass.

This time he got his hand slapped off. “Who’s going to protect me from your wandering hands though?” he grumbled as they entered the library. It was dark, dusty, and smelled funny. It was probably full of mice and spiders too. “Hand me the flashlight.” He didn’t want to risk tripping over something or walking into the wall. Tsuzuku pulled two flashlights out of his coat pocket, giving one to MiA then grinning as he clicked his on. He held it under his chin, the light making him look rather demonic with the devil horns pinned into his hair. Obviously what he’d gone for since he was going as a demon. Not that anyone would be able to tell by looking at him… although when he’d showed Tsuzuku his costume he’d tilted his head and asked if he was a space hooker. Rude.

“Want to tell some ghost stories?”

“No,” MiA said flatly. “We’re here so we might as well explore… see how bad this place is now.” Also, not that he’d ever admit it, the thought of telling ghost stories here gave him the creeps. MiA took Tsuzuku’s hand so he couldn’t wander off and try to scare him then tugged him down the hallway, curious in spite of how he’d prefer to be at home.

“The murder happened on the fifth floor. Let’s check it out,” Tsuzuku suggested.

MIA wrinkled his nose. “I’m not sure about the stairs, Tsu.” Given the age and condition of the building the steps were probably rotting and would break beneath their feet. Tsuzuku muttered something rude under his breath earning an elbow to the ribs in retaliation. Such a brat.

Walking around the first floor was anticlimactic. Dust, the occasional massive spider web (one that MiA hadn’t seen in time and his vicious swearing over the face full of sticky web made Tsuzuku laugh so hard that he was useless to help MiA out of his predicament), a couple candy boxes…

“Tsu, this is boring,” MIA sighed. There weren’t even any creepy statues or paintings. It seemed that all of the furniture had been removed since every room they passed was empty. “Can we go home now? We’ve been inside, there’s nothing to see here, so let’s just leave.”

Tsuzuku opened his mouth to respond. Before he could get a word out three shrill screams sounded from somewhere above them. Instantly MiA attached himself to his boyfriend, pulse quickening as he flashed back to the deaths all those years ago. “Those were girl screams,” he whispered, clutching Tsuzuku’s sleeve.

Tsuzuku wrapped a protective arm around his waist, skimming his hand up and down MiA’s side in a soft caress meant to be comforting. “Just the teenagers you mentioned earlier. They probably scared themselves.” He kissed MiA’s hair then drew back with a  wicked grin. “Find the staircase and jump out from behind it to really scare them?”

“Tsu!” MiA gasped. “That’s so mean.” The girls were already terrified enough.

“But fun!” Tsuzuku insisted. “Come on, let’s do it.” He tugged MiA forward causing the blonde to stumble. Huffing, he decided he might as well go along with Tsuzuku’s plan. Maybe they’d finally go home after scaring some girls out of their wits.

Two groups of terrified teenagers, exploring the second floor (despite MiA’s protests about the stairs), and making out with MiA against a bookcase on the third floor later, Tsuzuku was still determined to see the fifth floor. By now even MiA was curious so hand in hand they walked down the hallway, shining flashlights into rooms and corners. There was more furniture here so people had probably been too lazy to remove it. MiA let out a startled squeak when his flashlight beam landed on a row of statues against the wall. He’d mistaken them for people at first. Now he could clearly see the carved stone and felt a little foolish for letting some statues frighten him.

“They’re famous authors,” Tsuzuku realized. He let go of MiA’s hand then moved to stand in front of the first statue which MiA recognized as Edgar Allan Poe. Grinning, Tsuzuku shone the flashlight on Poe. “Quoth the raven nevermore.”

MiA wasn’t surprised that Tsuzuku liked Poe since both favored dark or gruesome elements in their writing although Tsuzuku wrote songs (if someone said they were poems he’d insist they were songs) rather than stories and poetry. There were eight statues in total, half being famous Western authors while the other half were Japanese. MiA followed Tsuzuku down the row of statues glancing briefly at them but not really caring about a bunch of carved dead people. Why wasn’t Tsuzuku bored yet? MiA recalled a disastrous date early in their relationship where he’d taken Tsuzuku to a museum since he wanted to check out a new exhibit. It’d been like taking a five-year-old since Tsuzuku had been bored out of his mind, griped about the old bitches giving him and his tattoos dirty looks, then tried to get MiA to have sex in the bathroom. MiA had kicked him in the shin and dragged him from room to room before finally snapping that if he was so bored he could just go home. MiA was at that point now but didn’t fancy the thought of walking out alone and waiting in the car by himself. Bribing Tsuzuku with sex would surely work to get him to leave.

The sudden flickering of their flashlights disrupted MiA’s train of thought. He frowned while he shook his wondering if the battery was dead since he couldn’t recall the last time either of them had pulled out a flashlight. If the power went out they lit candles or used their phones as a light source. “Did you put new batteries in before we left?”

“Um…” Tsuzuku’s response was far from comforting.

Annoyed, MiA shook the flashlight again then turned around with a huff. Great. If their flashlights went out they would be stuck in the dark with only MiA’s shoes and Tsuzuku’s name in glow paint on his bare back for light since he hadn’t brought his phone and Tsuzuku had forgotten to charge his so it was at home. MiA fussed with the flashlight then dropped it with a shriek as he realized Poe’s head was now turned towards them instead of facing the wall across from the statues.

“MiA?” Tsuzuku asked, stepping closer. “What happened?” he crouched down to retrieve the fallen flashlight, offering it to MiA. The blonde neither responded nor took it. He couldn’t stop staring at the statues. At how Poe’s head had moved, how Lady Murasaki was also looking at him too. “MiA?” he jumped when Tsuzuku waved a hand in front of his face. “You look like you’ve seen a ghost,” he joked.

“The statues moved,” MiA whispered frantically.

“Sure, and I hate sex,” Tsuzuku snorted. He shook his flashlight then looked pleased when it didn’t flicker again. MiA looked at the statues once more, blinking as he saw that their heads were back in their original positions. When had they done that? He’d just seen then watching him! “Quit staring at the statues. The flashlights are working again so let’s find the stairs.” Tsuzuku pushed the flashlight into MiA’s hand then caught this waist and tugged him away although his hand soon wandered to MiA’s ass. “Wonder why these statues are still here? Maybe no one could be bothered to move them.”

Too disturbed by what he’d seen MiA didn’t have the energy to smack his boyfriend’s hand off. He glanced back and aimed the light at Poe’s statue. Instantly he backed up heart racing as he reached behind him for Tsuzuku’s hand. “Tsu, look!” He yelped in surprise when Tsuzuku spun him around to face him. He grabbed MiA’s ass and pulled him up against his chest.

“Statues only move on TV, beautiful.” He tried to steal a kiss but MiA shoved him back.

“Stop groping me and listen to me!” the blonde snapped. Pointing at Poe and Lady Murasaki, MiA tensed as he realized the statues had moved closer. Only them though; the rest of the statues were completely still. Tsuzuku’s silence and the protective arm around MiA showed that he’d finally seen the movement too. It wasn’t the time to gloat though. The flashlights flickered again and MiA swallowed as Poe’s carved head turned towards them.

“Run. Now,” Tsuzuku said softly. He didn’t give MiA a chance to do anything else. Grabbing the blonde’s hand he bolted down the hallway with him. They had no choice but to go further into the library since to go back the way they’d come would require them to pass Poe and Lady Murasaki. What would a moving statue do to them? Shaking at the thought MiA gripped Tsuzuku’s hand tightly as they ran in the weak light. He glanced behind him to see the statues following. Unlike the movies, their stone legs moved slower than the lovers’ flesh and blood limbs. Poe and Murasaki pursued them down the hall and to the stairs. They couldn’t pass over the steps it seemed since they froze at the bottom.

Catching MiA looking back again Tsuzuku tugged his hand insistently. “Don’t just stand there,” he hissed.

MIA followed Tsuzuku up the stairs. Crossing the top step he risked one more glance back to ensure the statues couldn’t follow them. The flashlight went out then flicked on. During the brief period of darkness the statues had moved away from the stairs. Cautiously MiA clicked his flashlight off, ignoring Tsuzuku’s hissed question asking him what he was doing, then turned it on. The statues were down the hallway now. So they could only move in the dark. Great. It was fucking night out and the moon was a thin sliver in the sky. What were they supposed to do, stay inside until morning? Try to get out tonight? “I hope you’re happy now,” he snapped then felt guilty at the hurt on Tsuzuku’s face. Flashlight still in hand MiA stepped forward to hug his boyfriend. “I'm sorry.” How could they know the place was actually haunted? Or cursed? Whatever made statues move.

Tsuzuku slowly slid his arms around MiA. “Don’t. I’m the one who nagged you to come here.” He raised a hand to brush MiA’s hair out of his face. “What should we do?” Seeing Tsuzuku at a loss made MiA bite his lip and hold him tighter. Tsuzuku always had an idea (Although they often involved sex or MiA wearing a tiny outfit).

“I don’t know,” the blonde said softly. “Unless you have experience dealing with haunted statues…?”

Tsuzuku snorted. “Sorry, not on my résumé. The states moved when It was dark and normally I’d suggest we pass the time until dawn in a fun way but if that psycho librarian’s ghost is in here too…” he trailed off.

MiA shivered as he recalled the details of the murder. “People have been breaking in for years though and no one’s died since the place closed down. If we can get past the statues we can get out of here.” Their escape depended on their flashlights though. The beams were holding steady for now yet how long would that last?

“There might be another way out.”

MiA shook his head. “Aside from the window? I don't think so, Tsu.” He slowly pulled back from his boyfriend to take his hand. “I guess we should see if we can find a different staircase though.” He wished he’d been more insistent about leaving or not going but he knew it was worse for Tsuzuku since it’d been his idea to come here.

Their examination of the fourth floor proved fruitless. The only staircase they discovered was the one leading up to the fifth floor. MiA squeezed Tsuzuku’s hand tightly as they skirted by it. Just thinking about who or what was up there gave MiA the chills.

The couple had just turned back when their flashlights began to flicker again. Frantically MiA glanced around for statues yet there were none. “Turn yours off. We’ll use mine until the battery dies,” Tsuzuku ordered.

MiA felt naked without the extra light but obeyed. He shivered as he suddenly felt cold then tensed as his breath misted in the air in front of him. It took all of his courage not to scream and run in the opposite direction as a woman in a bloodstained skirt and blouse appeared in front of them.

“He’s coming,” she moaned, raising a trembling finger to point up. Tsuzuku swept MiA off his feet and sprinted down the hallway, the dead woman’s cry to flee echoing after them. Clinging tightly to Tsuzuku, MiA watched over his shoulder whimpering in fear as a ghost stepped out of the wall. She shouted at them to escape too and although MiA wanted to hide his face in Tsuzuku’s coat he had to watch out for threats behind them. When they reached the stairs he told Tsuzuku to put him down since neither could afford to hurt themselves now. He’d barely reached the bottom step before he was picked up again. MIA continued watching over Tsuzuku’s shoulder although soon realized that was a mistake when Tsuzuku, unable to see well with his arms full of MiA, tripped over something that sent both of them sprawling to the ground. MiA hissed as he hit the floor in spite of Tsuzuku’s attempts to shield him from the fall.

MiA extricating himself from an out of breath Tsuzuku’s arms. “We have to keep going. Don’t carry me, you’ll only tire yourself out.” He shone the flashlight at whatever had tripped up Tsuzuku then cringed. It was the arm of a statue and the flowing kimono sleeve looked like it had come from Lady Murasaki. “Fuck,” he swore. This time he was the one to grab his boyfriend’s hand and take off down the hallway, desperate to escape from the statues and the ghosts.

Panting and rubbing their burning sides the lovers collapsed into Tsuzuku’s car. MiA had fully expected to encounter statues and more ghosts but to his surprise they hadn’t seen anything but some more teenagers. Now they were safe in the car with the doors locked. Tsuzuku turned the engine on and practically floored the gas pedal. It took a few minutes to finish catching their breath and then find the right words to say.

“So… do I have to sleep on the couch tonight for making you go to a haunted house?”

MiA started laughing. Find out ghosts are real, escape from haunted statues, and Tsuzuku’s biggest concern was that he’d have to sleep on the couch tonight. “You could but then you’d miss out on the ‘we survived being in a haunted house and are now safe at home’ sex.” His smile faded as he rubbed his arms, feeling cold again. “Also if you were on the couch I’d come join you,” he said softly, “I… get the feeling I’ll be having nightmares about this place.”

He really should have paid attention to his parent’s stories.

Tsuzuku reached for MiA’s hand. “Me too. I do like the thought of we got out alive and unharmed sex though,” he said, glancing over to give MiA a dirty wink.

MiA rolled his eyes then turned the heat on. Of course his perverted boyfriend was still up for sex. Ghosts were real now but some things never changed.

Notes
I'd planned for this to have a darker, creepier tone but that just didn't work out with the writing. I decided to leave it the way it was and spare these two from more unpleasant ghosts than murder victims.

That was awesome. What a great read for Halloween. I know it wasn't meant to be cute but parts were just too cute to not be considered so. Tsu is such a grabby handed perv but then who can blame him when MiA is dressed in next to nothing.

The statues were great and very creepy and oh yeah I'd be running too or finding a bat to see if they'd shatter but then with my luck there'd be a hundred statues once they reassembled themselves lol.

But that was a great story. And I agree with MiA, what a thing for Tsu to worry about after everything they went through lol

This was really awesome! I nice read for Halloween, since I'm out of horror movies and fics to read lol. Love perverted Tsu, too bad we didn't get to see their 'we escaped a haunted house now we are safe sex.' Lol! It's okay though, hehe.

The whole moving statues in the dark reminded me of Silent Hill so much lol. Just thinking about it gave me chills. I'm glad that got away safe and sound! Thanks for writing another Mejibray fic! They are always nice to read xD

You're so welcome! Can't wait to read more of your fics! Perverted Tsu is the best xD haha. But of course, I seriously just want to write a fic where Lycaon and MEJIBRAY have a massive orgy xD

I've played all the Silent Hill games, I'm kind of a big horror gamer. (Been playing Alien:Isolation on PS4, wow scariest game ever 0.0) They have made it to the save point! Lol just kidding, sorry >.< I hope MEJIBRAY has elevated your shit job xP

Yes I know what you mean, poor Tsu :(

That's really cool that you are doing that for NaNoWriMo! I've been working on a historical Chinese thing (Lots of gay sex included) xP

I will read it soon but I am about to head to bed lol. We should make it a mission to plague LJ with MEJIBRAY fics, if I can ever write one properly haha.

Yes it sounds really nice, I'm getting all excited just thinking about it! xD

I scream and jump, not going to lie, but that is the fun of it! ^^ Oh I've been there, why are managers always so crazy?

Yes, it makes me worry too, and some fans have 'good' intentions in mind probably worsen his condition. Which makes me worry 1000 times more. Yeah Ryoga is a really good friend with him, it's nice that he has him!

I feel you, I haven't really written anything long before. Haha, no, it takes place in 1st Centrury BCE so no nasty shaved heads. I actually based it off of real people, Emperor Ai and his male lover Dong Xian. xD I'm kind of a Chinese history obsessor, especially when it comes to the Han Dynasty!

Did I feel a hint of Weeping Angels in those statues?
Oh that was a bit creepy though!
Hooray for making it out alive....and the celebratory sex afterwards. XD
