2.7 Lycaon Instore

write_my_dreamsToday was a busy day of instores for me! First was Lycaon’s talk and photoshoot at Little Hearts, then I went to Shibuya Zeal Link to take pictures of Nocturnal Bloodlust’s costumes from the Genesis PV, then after lunch it was back to Zeal Link again for my instore with them. That will be in a second entry, which I'll work on after I take my shower.
There are a few different types of instore events in Japan. Some are mini-lives but most combine a talk with some other type of event. Talk and handshake, talk and sign, talk and photo, talk + sign + handshake. Talks are where the band members read out and answer questions written to them by the fans. The talk portion usually only lasts half an hour so obviously they can’t read and answer all the questions, but they do their best! Talks are pretty funny since the questions are hit or miss. Sometimes they’re really good questions and other times you can tell it’s by some pervert fan, such as the instore Alice was out where all the questions were about underwear.
Lycaon (talk and photoshoot)
Time: 12:30 open, 13:00 start
Place: Little Hearts, Shinjuku
I was ticket number 56 so I wasn’t able to sit. I stood at the back behind the stools but still had a great view. With about ten minutes to go, one of the staff members came up to the stage area to read us the rules. No taking pictures during the talk, stuff I couldn’t understand, then she was giggling and saying Yuuki would be murmuring so it’s probably hard to hear him, and that we can pick who we want to sit between for our photo after the talk. She was a big Yuuki fan so said she’d pick him then was giggling again.
Another staff member came up and said it was time for Lycaon. We clapped then the guys walked in. Satoshi first, then Rito (I know his stage name is Zero and has been Zero since 2013, but the last time I saw him at lives he was still Rito. Basically I’ll call him Zero only when required but otherwise I’ll refer to him as Rito), Yuuki, Ichiro, and Hiyuu. I didn’t recognize Hiyuu at first since he wore his hair in a different style and it didn’t look like he was wearing much makeup at all so it looked like a more natural Hiyuu. Still gorgeous as always although he looked like he climbed out of a black hole since he wore a black coat, black pants, black boots. Ichiro had a grey coat and black pants. Yuuki wore black skinny jeans, black boots, a black three quarter length sleeve blazer that was open over (shocker) a black v-neck. Then he had leather gloves that covered his fingers and a little over half his palm. And some jewelry. He had dark hair and red lipstick. I absolutely loved his look, he looked incredible. Rito was wearing his Camera Obscura outfit but had some purple in his hair and weird makeup on his neck designed to look like scratches I think. Satoshi wore his Camera Obscura outfit and his hat of course, straight bangs, then the rest of his hair was curled. He had really awesome makeup.
First they introduced themselves. Hiyuu started first, Ichiro, Yuuki (who was doing his murmuring/purrs as usual, sounds gorgeous but it can be quite difficult to understand him), I forgot Rito lost his personality/voice when he turned into Zero but he did have a notebook so he could write down his name… although he wrote in hiragana just like he does on Twitter. So I’m not sure why he uses kanji for his new stage name. Maybe he likes the way it looks? Then Satoshi introduced himself and was his usual peppy self. He’s so cute. There was an issue with his microphone where his was super loud so after his introduction Hiyuu and Ichiro complained that he was too loud so a staff member turned the sound down. Poor Satoshi.
Hiyuu was the designated spokesman today since he read most of the questions though did pass Ichiro a stack. He and Ichiro were extremely talkative, Rito basically just sat there and looked pretty, Yuuki and Satoshi talked sometimes. Even though I studied in Kansai region I still have a hard time understanding Lycaon’s Japanese (they’re from Nagoya I think so they aren’t speaking “proper” Japanese, they’re boys so they use a lot of boy slang I’m not familiar with, and in Satoshi’s case I just can’t understand him well) so sorry this part will be short! I Just couldn’t understand some of the questions or their answers.
One question asked about their favorite song from Camera Obscura. I didn’t get the album until today and I’m listening for the first time as I type this. So I can’t remember what the guys said. Or well, what everyone but Rito said. I thought Rito would write answers sometimes but he only wrote his name and then his favorite chocolate later.
Another question asked about cameras. Hiyuu was confused at first then Ichiro cackled and said it was because of the album title. Since it’s Yuuki’s birthday they asked Yuuki what his favorite brand of camera is. He said Nikon and that he’s used it for a while. So Hiyuu and Ichiro grinned and said that Yuuki must want a new Nikon for his birthday while Yuuki just grinned.
Other question asked them what their favorite chocolate is. Hiyuu mentioned that it was because Valentine’s Day is next week. He liked chocolate covered potato chips, Ichiro liked Meiji chocolate, Yuuki says he likes Meiji and when pressed for details said milk chocolate from Meiji, Rito wrote his brand on his notebook Millefort or something, not sure what it is in English (French?) given that he wrote in katakana. I don’t think Satoshi answered.
Last question I can remember asked what type of kid they were. Satoshi said he was always going home to watch Dragon Ball. Hiyuu said he was out playing soccer all the time. Ichiro mentioned growing up in Hikone (where I studied) and playing soccer though had a funny story of hitting his head on a goal post. Then they were talking to Yuuki about soccer but apparently little Yuuki was really bad at soccer when he was a kid.
After the talk portion ended, the fans were cleared out of the store and we had to wait on the stairs again. We were called by number then brought back into the store to get our picture.
I asked to sit between Rito and Yuuki and holy shit Yuuki was practically climbing into my lap. Draped himself over me, he and Rito snuggled in close. My heart was pounding for a good ten minutes afterwards!
Fortunately Yuuki was on my bad hair side. I straightened my stupid bangs this morning and one side promptly curled up anyway. At least I didn't look like Medusa!
