2.7 Nocturnal Bloodlust Instore

write_my_dreamsI got this typed up yesterday but ended up going to bed before I could post since I had a stomach ache. My fault given I ate too much junk food after I got back from Tokyo.
2.7 Nocturnal Bloodlust
Date: Feb 7
Location: Shibuya Zeal Link
Time: Open 4:30, start 5:00
From 1 – 3:00 the costumes from the Genesis PV were on display in the Zeal Link basement so I hurried there from Shinjuku after I got my picture with Lycaon. The lighting unfortunately wasn’t that great so while Hiro and Cazqui’s costumes showed up well, I can’t say the same for Masa, Daichi, and Natsu since their costumes are basically all black. I took a lot of pictures but won’t post all of them to LJ.
I was ticket #60 so again no chance for a seat. Though this worked in my favor since the Zeal Link basement is organized like thus: there’s the stage, then about 8 rows of stools, space behind the stools to stand, and space to the left of the stools. I made a beeline for the standing space next to the stools since that got me in the equivalent of second row seating. I had a great view and also the band members walked right past me to get to the stage.
As with Lycaon, a few minutes before the instore was set to begin a staff member read out the rules. Then she started playing this really weird music that confused me although after being exposed to Hiro’s strangeness tonight, I’m guessing that he was the one who composed this lovely uh… song. It ends with him going “Hiro!!” and he comes into the room dressed as Goku. Hair spiked up and everything. It was really funny though I was also disappointed since this is the first time I’ve seen Nocturnal Bloodlust in person and I hoped I could see Hiro in normal clothes with his pretty hair. Instead I get Mr. Crazy. Oh well, he made me laugh a lot! It was definitely memorable. So Hiro heads up to the stage and goes to the far right to sit, holding his hands up in the Kamehameha gesture. (I watched Dragon Ball when I was a kid, read a bit of the manga in high school, and haven’t cared about it since so I barely remember anything about the series. A lot of the jokes went over my head). Hiro sits down and calls for his bannd mates. Natsu, Masa, Daichi, and Cazqui (poor Cazqui tripped coming inside) come out dressed in normal clothes, prompting shopping envy for me. Can I just go shopping with them? I loved their casual style though I think Daichi was cold since he had a big cardigan on, plus his scarf, then his hat he keeps wearing for instores lately. I was tempted to offer him my coat since I kept overheating.
Starting with Daichi, everyone introduced themselves. Hiro kept saying “Waka waka” and talking in this really weird voice during the instore. Something Goku does? I don’t know, I’ve never seen it in Japanese. Hiro pulled the questions out of his costume then spread them out on his table then turned to Masa, telling him to pick the one that feels best. He and Masa would take turns picking questions and they kept having to share a microphone since Hiro’s wasn’t working. A staff member even tried to fix it twice but it just wouldn’t cooperate. So they were passing the mic back and forth or Masa would share with Cazqui for when Hiro was chatting and Masa wanted to say something too. Daichi seemed alarmed by crazy Hiro so that was funny. Oh and Hiro waved his hands over the papers before Masa picked one. Hiro also assigned everyone a character name from Dragon Ball. Daichi was the first victim and he was Bulma (the girl, don’t know how to spell her name). He didn’t look too happy about that. Natsu was a number, forgot who Cazqui was but he said something about green, can’t remember Masa’s name either.
Hiro always read the questions though sometimes Masa helped pick them. Again, my Japanese needs a lot of improvement so I can’t recall or understand all of the questions that they read. Sometimes Masa and Hiro would be squinting at the paper trying to decipher someone’s handwriting. Poor boys.
For now I can only remember three questions. What is today’s fashion point? Hiro happily jumps up and turns around to show off the back of his costume. He said “it’s small but…” (I couldn’t understand what he said) then he showed us that he was wearing Goku shoes over his regular shoes. Picture a giant five year old and you can picture Hiro at that moment, lol. He was very excited.
He told “Bulma” (Daichi) to go next. Daichi said it was his acorn hat that he’s worn to the last few instores then he stood up and turned to his costume mannequin that was behind him and started talking about the costume, how he always wears a lot of lace. How there’s usually lace at his legs (then he gestures and was patting his thighs) and he waved the sleeve to show the lace sleeves. He said the corset was another fashion point but got huffy since it was on backwards on the mannequin so gave the “ahem” cough and gave a staff member a pointed look while Hiro and Cazqui were giggling. Daichi sat back down and Natsu was next. I seriously can’t remember what Natsu and Masa’s fashion points were and since they were sitting in front of each other’s costumes they couldn’t go over and point out what features they liked best about their own outfits. Cazqui was after Natsu and he plucks at his turtle neck saying that was his fashion point today then he stands up and turns to his costume, pulling at the collar on that. Hiro started playing with the sleeve asking if that was a fashion point too and Cazqui said no then Masa was poking at the part covering Cazqui’s stomach. Then everyone points at Hiro’s costume and is cackling since the costume is on a female mannequin so there’s a half naked mannequin and everyone’s giggling about the one boob showing.
A couple more questions, had a hard time understanding them so I can’t remember them.
There were some funny parts where it’d be the other members turn to answer questions and Hiro would call their Dragon Ball names and they wouldn’t answer since they forgot that was their new name. Hiro would stare at them until they realized they were supposed to answer or he’d say their character name again to get their attention.
One fan asked a really good question. She asked what their most difficult live was and it had everyone stumped for a few moments. Hiro said his very first oneman was the most difficult, I couldn’t really understand what Masa said since he kept talking but I think it was something similar, Cazqui’s hardest live was his first hardcore visual live, Natsu said his hardest live was his first visual live since he hadn’t done it before. And Daichi said his hardest live was his first live with Nocturnal Bloodlust since they’d been together for about a year before he joined (Hiro said year and a half then looked unsure so he and Daichi were trying to recall how long it’d been). There was more to the question, asking which lives were the easiest and if there were any lives that weren’t fun. Natsu said lives are always fun and no one really had an answer for which lives are the easiest.
Next question was one I couldn’t understand until they started giving answers. Basically they were asked (according to their answers): if you could turn into another member for the day, who would you be? Daichi said he’d like to be Hiro though I forgot why since his answer was really longwinded. Natsu looked thoughtful then said he’d like to try being Daichi for half an hour to see about his life at home. Daichi looked offended that Natsu would only want to be him for half an hour and was muttering that thirty minutes isn’t enough. Cazqui wanted to be Hiro so he could play guitar with Hiro’s strength. Masa wanted to be Cazqui so he could play guitar the way Cazqui does and was demonstrating hand movements. I really couldn’t understand Hiro that well, he was wondering who he’d like to be and I think he said something about being a mirror?
There was another question and Daichi was chatting for a while so Hiro was telling him to hurry up since it was time to end soon. I can’t remember the question of the answer, just Hiro telling Daichi to hurry XD
After the talk it was time for the CD jacket signing. I brought my big copy of Omnigod and got the cover signed. I kept watching the band while I was waiting for my turn, wondering what the hell I was going to say since I just started listening to them in December so I don’t know them very well yet. Hiro was really funny with his fans. He let one girl touch his arm muscles then he and another Dragon Ball fanboy were doing some weird hand thing. Also a girl called Hiro cute so he got really pouty and insisted that he wasn’t cute! Then he put his head down and acted like he would stab her with his hair. And one girl had complimented Daichi on his hair since he smiled and was playing with his extensions.
It seemed like it was too soon that it was my turn. Hiro glances up and says in English “Come on!” And his ridiculous hair had me laughing right away. I gave him my CD and told him to sign wherever then blurted out that his English is good since he actually uses proper English that I can understand. I’d been speaking in Japanese and wondered if he would speak to me in English since I’m quite clearly not a Japanese girl, but he just responds in Japanese “Who me? I also speak Japanese!” Which made me want to facepalm. Dork. We shook hands and I moved on to Masa. I felt so bad because I just did not know what to say to Masa although I told him I liked his sweater and he smiled and said “Thank you” in English.
I really feel awful for how my brain froze with Masa, Cazqui, and Natsu. I just didn’t know what to say to them and it was only afterwards that I of course had ideas, ugh. It was worse with Cazqui. I just smiled nervously and gave him my CD and didn’t manage to say anything except to thank him. Though I did remark about how none of his pens were working since poor Cazqui tried to sign once, twice, then had to grab another pen. We shook hands and he smiled, didn’t seem to mind that I’d gone mute on him. Natsu was next and I told him I really liked his hair and he said my Japanese was good so I was laughing “No no not yet”. He signed and we shook hands then it was Daichi. Now, I adore Daichi. He’s so cute and I like browsing his twitter just to get my daily cute fix. So I smiled at him and told him that he’s always so cute. He beamed and thanked me then complimented my Japanese. By now I’m a nervous wreck since I always get super nervous in instores so I insisted no no but he insisted it was good. Sweetie. He signed then clasped my hand in both of his and gave me a sweet smile and thanked me.
Unfortunately the chekis were sold out so I’ll have to try when I see them next time. I’ll be going to their event on February 21st, I couldn’t get a ticket for the talk sadly but I’ll be able to get my picture taken with them. Then I see them live on the 27th with some other bands. It’s too bad I can’t see any of their one man shows since I leave in March but oh well. There’s always the next time I come back!
