Exactly one week ago I left for my new life in New York. The first half of the week was pretty awful but it's slowly been improving. I keep forgetting that something like this is a HUGE shock to the system and I just do not handle it well. That happened to me last time I moved to Japan and also even beginning my study abroad because my new home for the next several months wasn't what I thought it would be. Was really stressed out, had horrific appetite issues (more so than usual), but slowly I've been getting back to normal and I can only hope next week will be better.
My sister bought me a membership to her gym as a birthday present so I've made the commitment to come to the gym with her and Stephen (her boyfriend) every week night. I've let myself go so badly this past year. I've never been this heavy in my entire life and I feel absolutely disgusting. Once I have a steady exercise routine I hope to see pounds and fat melting away. The food situation is trickier because I just came from a small town with a massive grocery store that pretty much had everything I needed right there. Now I'm in New York and there's a shortage of good sized grocery stores. There seem to be a bunch of little ones in the area. Once I'm able to find some good stores that have the things I want/need I'll be able to work on the diet part of my weight loss program.
Really hoped to get my MiA series posted this week but with all the chaos I've decided it's better to wait and post that next week. Things should have settled down a bit more by then. Pictures of the place will come later once I've had time to settle in more, still have unpacking to do and have to figure out where to put everything since storage is pretty limited and I don't want to buy anything else right now.
Also have to begin the great job hunt. I've sent out some applications and of course never heard anything back. Just have to keep working on it...
Happy Valentine's Day everyone :) Not sure if I'm doing anything tomorrow but I do want to get some chocolate of course to celebrate.
