いよいよ仕事もらった!
Mar. 13th, 2016 11:56 amA year and a couple weeks ago I returned from Japan with the plan of finding a job in the next town over (My hometown is classic suburban America. Good luck finding anything career worthy there), staying with the parents for 2-3 years, then going back to Japan somehow.
That didn't work out. Basically had a complete mental breakdown and struggled with unemployment and then a part-time job I hated that was causing severe pain, more unemployment, moving to New York... Unemployment...
Until Thursday. On Tuesday I had a in-person interview at a dog/cat boarding place in Brooklyn. I'd applied to be the front desk receptionist and Thursday evening I was offered the job! It's not the 9-5 Monday through Friday I wanted, but I have a guaranteed job for a year with this place, I like the area, it's not that much of a pain to get to from my apartment, and my manager and coworker were both incredibly friendly. Now I'm just waiting to see when my start date is but FINALLY I have a job!
If my hands let me I'd like to get some more writing done while I'm still jobless because I know once I start my writing time will drastically diminish. Unfortunately the two day job I had Thursday/Friday absolutely slaughtered my hands/wrists and I'm still dealing with the aftermath. Will blog about my job later.. maybe Monday... need to go rest my hands now.
Just wanted to share the news that I'm no longer a deadbeat! Horray. I went out yesterday to celebrate and bought an awesome ouija board shirt that'll be great for my ghost story and found Lululemon leggings at a thrift store for $14 instead of whatever they are... $80 maybe?
Things are getting better. Aside from my hands.
