kurrren ! I wanted to write you a back to school thing and I thought of this.
Hiroto stared at the clock, wondering how the hands could move so slowly. He wanted the school day to be over right now. There were only five minutes left until he was done, but five minutes felt like eternity. He’d already packed his books away and had given up on paying attention to the teacher’s lecture. He’d rather think about Shou anyway. Mm, Shou…
Loud ringing pulled him out of his daydream, and Hiroto jumped to his feet. He could finally leave. He grabbed his bag and bolted out of the classroom. The day had dragged on forever, but it was finally over. All he had to do now was find Shou. Hiroto decided to check his boyfriend’s class first, but discovered Shou had already left. Maybe he was waiting for Hiroto back at his class. Hiroto went back to the room, but there was no sign of Shou. He waited a few minutes in the case the other might show up, but he didn’t.
Hiroto walked away, a little hurt that Shou hadn’t waited for him. Or maybe he’d just missed the older boy in his dash between classes. Shou might be standing outside, waiting for him to come out. Figuring he’d find him out there, Hiroto left the building. There was no sign of Shou though. Hiroto decided to keep looking. After ten minutes of hunting and not finding Shou, Hiroto decided to check the roof. Technically, students weren’t supposed to be up there but most of them ignored that rule and went up there anyway. Hiroto found Shou up there when he was upset or just wanted to get away from everyone. Since he hadn’t waited, something must have happened.
Hiroto went back into the school and made his way up the stairs, pushing open the door to the roof and climbing up some more stairs before he stepped out onto the roof. He saw Shou seated with his back against the wall, long legs drawn up to his chest.
“Shou?” Hiroto went over to him, frowning at his expression. Shou didn’t look happy. “What’s wrong?”
The older boy hugged his knees against his chest with a sigh. “I got teased again.”
“About what?”
“My awful teeth.”
Hiroto sat down next to him, draping an arm over Shou’s shoulders and scooting closer to him. “Whoever teased you is an idiot.” Gently, he turned the older boy’s face towards his and kissed him. “Because you’re beautiful.”
“No I’m not.”
“Yes you are.” Hiroto smoothed Shou’s bangs out of his face. “The first time I saw you all I could do was stammer like a dork because I thought you were the most attractive guy I’d ever seen before. So don’t you dare tell me you’re not beautiful or that you have bad teeth.”
“But-”
Hiroto silenced his protests with a kiss. “Does it matter what some jerks think about you? I love you. I think you look perfect the way you are. So whose opinion is more important? Your boyfriend’s or that of a bunch of bullies?”
“Yours.”
Hiroto nodded. “Now what would I say about your teeth?”
Shou sighed as he brushed his bangs out of his eyes. “You’d tell me there’s nothing wrong with my teeth and that I shouldn’t be so insecure about them.”
Hiroto beamed. “Exactly.” Gently, he pushed Shou’s knees down so that his legs were stretched out in front of him. He then clambered into Shou’s lap, cupping his face in his hands as he kissed him again. “People in high school are bitchy and say nasty things. But you’re too good for them, so don’t let their teasing get to you.” He pressed another kiss against Shou’s lips. “Because their opinion doesn’t matter.”
The older boy wound his arms around his waist and drew him closer, smiling softly as he kissed the top of Hiroto’s head. “Thanks, Pon. You always know how to make me feel better.”
Hiroto smiled back, happy that he’d chased Shou’s gloomy mood away. “Good. Now come on, let’s go to my place!” He stood and helped Shou to his feet, lacing their fingers together.
Shou nodded. “Let’s go.”
