Language Help

 Hey, I need some help with my novel. Does ANYONE speak Chinese? I'm writing a novel and two of the major characters were born and raised in China, so I wanted to be able to incorporate some Chinese into my book. They'd speak Mandarin Chinese so if anyone knows how to speak Chinese, please let me know!

I only know "NI HAO!" and ShayShay lol but you could use Google Translate to translate what you want to say in Mandarin :DD

Haha I only know ni hao too. What does ShayShay mean? True, I'm just suspicious about Google Translate since it doesn't always work that well.

Plus it won't be able to help me with pronouncing anything XD (I think a Chinese person would cry... or hit me if they heard me butcher their language)

Thank you XD Remember from Moon Child? It works well enough for me! XD If you were taking Chinese, you could just ask your professor, but you're not so, I dunno what to tell ya :O

Well, you're writing it, not saying it so I don't think you need to worry about pronunciation. XDD Mandarin pronunciation is pretty hard to develop anyway if you can't already tell. ^^;;

I am semi fluent in Mandarin though I do not know characters well.

It is interesting that you are writing a novel. I am excited to hear more about it.

Awesome! I don't need to know how to write it out in Chinese characters (although that would be interesting)

I'm still working on a storyline... I'm trying to make my characters first and then work on the plot and storyline, but it's modern fantasy, and my main character finds out he has to leave his home/life in the human world behind and take his father's place in the 'magical' world. Terrible description but I'm still working on it
