Next Steps
Dec. 24th, 2012 07:52 pm“Tell me more about your dreams,” Asagi said. They’d decided to go to the ramen bar across the street from the studio so they could talk. They’d been mostly quiet though because the kiss, and Tsunehito running after Asagi to stop him from leaving, was still hanging over their heads. Part of the bassist wondered if he should have let Asagi go so he could think about his feelings for him. The rest was glad he’d stopped him. Even though Tsunehito was confused, he knew he wanted to be with Asagi.
Tsunehito shifted awkwardly. Asagi would probably think he was a horny fanboy by the time he finished describing them. “Well…” he frowned as he glanced down at his bowl of ramen. “I think they were based on repression. I didn’t say this before, but we were changing with every dream. My clothes got tighter and more revealing… and you couldn’t keep your hands off my thighs.”
Asagi chuckled softly. “How can you blame me? You have amazing legs.”
Tsunehito laughed. “Thanks.” He brushed his hair back. “That, more than you feeding me, is why I was so awkward around you. I was uncomfortable in the dreams… but part of me liked having you touch me. So I guess I’ve just… liked you for a while and never knew.” He picked up his bowl again to eat more noodles. What would Asagi think of his words?
The vocalist was quiet, then reached out to brush his fingers against Tsunehito’s hand. “I realized I was in love with you about a month before we left for Europe.”
Tsunehito’s eyes widened. “Really?” Again he felt guilt stab him. He’d been so oblivious! Now that he thought about it though, Asagi had been more helpful than usual. Taking him out to dinner or for drinks more often, always making sure Tsunehito was happy and doing well. He’d dismissed it as Asagi just being his usual friendly self. “I’m really sorry I never noticed.”
The vocalist shook his head. “There’s no need to apologize. I was afraid of disrupting things between us if you knew so I did my best to hide it.” He pulled his hand back so he could finish his own ramen, quiet again so Tsunehito could think about his words. Fear of disrupting the band was the exact emotion he had felt when he had that crush on Asagi. Tsunehito had also been afraid the other man would just see him as yet another starry-eyed fanboy though. Cute, easily charmed, but not one to romantically invest in. So he’d stayed quiet and gotten over his little infatuation.
Or so he’d thought. Maybe those feelings had never really gone away. Tsunehito really needed time to think. But he didn’t want to leave Asagi.
“What are we?” Tsunehito blurted out. They’d kissed once and he’d liked it once he got over his shock. They had mutual feelings for each other so were they lovers?
Asagi lowered the bowl and studied the bassist. “I don’t know. What do you want us to be?”
Tsunehito hesitated. “I want… to be with you. I’m just a little confused still. The dreams really made me start questioning the way I felt about you.” Especially since Ruiza had asked him if he was in love with Asagi and didn’t seem convinced when Tsunehito said no. “I haven’t had enough time to think though.” Maybe he should have Asagi kiss him again. Or would that confuse him even more?
The vocalist nodded. “All right. I’ll let you think then and we’ll talk again once you’ve decided what you want.” He pulled his wallet out of his pocket and started to take out some money, but Tsunehito stopped him.
“I’ll treat,” he said. “Consider it an apology for being awkward around you all week.”
Asagi laughed. “All right. Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.” Tsunehito fumbled in his pocket to get his own wallet out. He glanced up as Asagi came closer, glanced around the restaurant, then leaned down to kiss the top of his head. It was sweet but unexpected. “You’re going to confuse me if you keep doing that.”
The vocalist looked amused. “You’ll just have to think some more then. I’ll see you tomorrow.” He gave Tsunehito a brief wave then picked up his bag and left the bassist alone with his thoughts.
* * *
Once Tsunehito was back home, he started thinking. About the dreams, that old crush on Asagi, the kiss, how he felt about the vocalist… his thoughts were confusing and jumbled, but Tsunehito was positive of one thing: he wanted to be Asagi’s lover.
So on the day when D didn’t have to be at the studio until later in the afternoon—two days after Asagi had kissed him—Tsunehito called the vocalist and invited him to his apartment. They could have lunch and talk then leave for the studio together. Asagi had accepted so Tsunehito quickly cleaned his apartment and changed into something flattering but comfortable. Then nervously plucked at his bass while he waited for Asagi to arrive.
Tsunehito jumped as his phone buzzed. He’d just received a text: I’m here. The bassist got up off the couch then went to his door. He pressed the button by the intercom that would open the lobby door, then left his own ajar. It wouldn’t take Asagi long to get up here. A gentle knock announced the vocalist’s arrival.
“Hi,” Tsunehito smiled as he opened the door all the way. “I wasn’t sure what you wanted to eat for lunch so decided to wait…”
The vocalist looked amused as he slipped off his shoes. “And you have something you want to tell me first?”
Tsunehito blushed a little. Perceptive as always. “I do.” He turned away, knowing Asagi would follow him, then sat on the couch. The door shut and Asagi joined him a few moments later. Tsunehito looked at him then immediately felt flustered. He’d always hated confessing his feelings since it was awkward and made him feel tongue-tied and stupid. At least he knew Asagi loved him so didn’t have to worry about being rejected. “I thought and I-I do love you. I guess my crush turned into love as I got to know you better and I was just too stupid to notice.” He smiled awkwardly then shifted closer. “I want to be with you though.” He knew that when they went to dinner together, but was more sure of himself now.
Asagi draped his arm around Tsunehito’s waist then brought him closer. “I wouldn’t call you dumb for not knowing you loved me. Emotions are complicated.” He smoothed Tsunehito’s bangs back then kissed his forehead. “Especially love.” Tsunehito turned his face up to kiss Asagi in response. The vocalist shifted and cupped the younger man’s face as he kissed him back. Kissing Asagi felt good. It felt right. Like something he should have been doing all along. Tsunehito reached up to bury his fingers in Asagi’s silky hair, parting his lips for him. The vocalist deepened the kiss, making Tsunehito shiver a little as their tongues touched. Mm… he definitely liked this. Asagi kissed him until Tsunehito had to pull back to breathe, panting slightly.
“You can’t imagine how long I’ve wanted to do that.”
The bassist chuckled. “You should do it again then.”
Asagi smiled and pulled him back into another kiss. They kissed each other, tentatively figuring out what the other liked. The vocalist broke the kiss to start nibbling on Tsunehito’s neck. Oh… that felt good. He pressed Asagi closer, moaning softly. Then his stomach growled. Loudly. Asagi pulled back abruptly. “I think someone needs food,” he said. He looked amused as he patted Tsunehito’s stomach.
“I guess so.” The bassist looked up at Asagi. “I figured I’d just order takeout. Is there a particular place you had in mind?”
Asagi started kissing his neck again. “Hm… it doesn’t matter to me.”
Tsunehito tilted his head for him, sliding his fingers into the vocalist’s hair again. “Let’s get curry and ah-” he moaned at a harder bite. What had he been saying?
“Curry and what?” Asagi murmured against his neck.
“Um…” Tsunehito was too distracted by the vocalist kissing his skin and stroking his sides to think. Having the other do this made it very difficult to concentrate. “I don’t know.”
Asagi chuckled softly then pulled back. “Curry sounds good.”
“All right.” Tsunehito pulled the phone out of his pocket then scooted away, giving Asagi a warning look. “Stay on your own side of the couch so I can order.” The last thing he needed was his new lover nibbling on his neck while he was trying to order their food.
Asagi gave him an angelic smile that immediately made Tsunehito suspicious. “I will.”
The bassist dialed the number, watching him warily as he held the phone to his ear. Trusting that smile was difficult. He waited for the restaurant to pick up then ordered their food and gave his address. After the call he pocketed his phone. “Food should be here in about forty minutes.”
“All right.” Asagi moved so he could sit next to Tsunehito again. “I’ll buy lunch since you bought dinner.” He turned the bassist’s chin up for a kiss, distracting him from replying. Tsunehito returned the kiss and buried his fingers in Asagi’s hair again. He lightly massaged the other’s scalp, smirking as that got a contented little groan in response. So he liked that. Tsunehito broke the kiss so he could start trailing kisses down the other’s neck while continuing to massage his scalp. Asagi was making contented little purrs for Tsunehito then tilted his head. The bassist playfully nipped his neck. So both of them liked being kissed there. He wondered what else Asagi liked…
Tsunehito let out a surprised noise as the vocalist turned his face up to claim another kiss. He didn’t want more neck kisses? The bassist didn’t complain though and eagerly returned the kiss. Asagi had waited months to kiss him so was probably just eager for more. That was fine with Tsunehito. He could easily become addicted to kissing this man. Asagi moved closer, sliding his hands down Tsunehito’s body again to grasp his little waist. Tsunehito shifted a little then squeaked as Asagi pushed him down on his back on the couch. The bassist repositioned then smirked as he pulled Asagi down on top of him. The vocalist settled in between his legs, stroking one as he kissed Tsunehito again. He wound his arms around Asagi and stroked his back as the he returned the kiss. Tsunehito parted his lips, shifting a little to wrap his legs around the vocalist’s hips as he deepened the kiss. It’d be so easy to get carried away like this.
Tsunehito broke the kiss when he needed to breathe, panting softly as Asagi’s hands moved under his shirt. Immediately he caught the vocalist’s wrists and looked up at him. “I think we should take this slow for now. Besides,” he moved the hands and placed one on his thigh and the other in his hair. “We have food coming.”
Asagi gave him an apologetic smile. “You’re right. I’m sorry… I just got a little carried away.” He started to get up, but Tsunehito tightened his grip on him with his legs.
“I said we should take it slow. Not that you should get off me.” Tsunehito grinned and pulled him down for another kiss. He was really enjoying this.
Asagi looked amused. “You want to test my self control?” he slowly stroked the bassist’s thighs as he returned the kiss. Tsunehito made a noise of agreement then slid his fingers back into Asagi’s thick hair. He pressured the vocalist closer and playfully nipped his lip. Asagi started a little then squeezed Tsunehito’s thigh, kissing him a little more forcefully. He liked that though and automatically parted his lips. They kept kissing but this time Asagi was the first to pull away.
“What should we tell the others?”
Tsunehito blinked. “The truth,” he said simply, looking up at Asagi. “That we’re lovers now but we’re professionals first.” He smirked and tickled Asagi’s sides, making him laugh. “Which means you can’t lock me in the recording studio to make out when we should be working.”
Asagi chuckled. “I suppose that’s fair.” He gently broke Tsunehito’s hold on him so he could get up then sat back down on the couch. The bassist moved to sit in his lap. He wasn’t ready to stay too far from Asagi just yet. He straddled his new lover and wrapped his arms around his neck. Asagi frowned slightly. “You’re way too light. I think I need to feed you.”
Tsunehito smacked his arm. “Don’t even think of reenacting my dream.” Then he smirked. “I’ll let you tie me up someday though.”
“You’re really testing my self control,” Asagi said dryly as he draped his arms around Tsunehito’s waist.
The bassist grinned. Asagi wanted him that much? “Sorry.”
“No you’re not.”
“Not one bit.” Tsunehito smirked then kissed Asagi.
He wouldn’t admit it, but this was testing his willpower too. Taking it slow might be harder than he thought.
