Slight Hyde Hiatus

LJ gets more and more dead with every month so I'm wondering if I should even bother announcing this... but I'm going to take a break from writing Hyde. I've been getting annoyed with myself for just using the same character and recycling him into different universes and ideas (which is something I've done a lot with other characters). I just need a break to work on writing with other characters.

And also the Hyde-oriented stories I have are all ones that need to be edited. My editing process is long, time-consuming and extremely frustrating at times. I get obsessive about wording and can spend hours working on the first few paragraphs of a story. I was going to announce this after editing Chapter 3 of Breaking the Habit, but I opened it up yesterday and felt motivated... then I went to class, came home, and was busy with Japanese and other stuff for a while. Then I was too tired to even think about editing.

I'm also feeling kind of drained writing wise and I think that's because I've just been writing with one character for too long. 

So I'll still be active on LJ (once things are ready to post), it just won't be with Hyde. If I feel like editing Chapter 3 I will but other than that don't expect Hyde updates until I'm ready to come back to him.

Going up north tomorrow after mom gets off work so I'll be back on Saturday with some pictures :)

I've been writing a D fanfic in between classes and I felt more enthusiastic about writing that than I do about any editing XD I think a break will do me well. Mom checked the weather and it's supposed to be rainy tomorrow so we'll just leave early Saturday instead.

part of me feels sad, but the biggest part doesn't mind because you want to still be active and not make ENTIRE LJ dead. xD

and sometimes, we just really need a break to be able to write again. I know the feeling pretty well.
I should write more too, but I'm too obsessed with RPs to write my stuff. xD

Oh I'll be posting stuff anyway, it just won't be Hyde related. I'm just so familiar with LJ it's hard to think about posting my writing somewhere else.

We really do. Well I wrote a D fic and had a lot of fun writing that. I think I just needed some variety.
You should, help drag LJ out of its grave. Haha! Makes sense XD

I want to. That's why I usually just post whatever it is I write, without giving it proper editing and such. Well, when it comes to editing, I never really change much anyway... It's more a spelling/grammar edit. ^_^"

That makes sense. I just get so irritated with editing Breaking the Habit I might just post a chapter as is tomorrow >< Save myself the headache of dealing with it.
Ah, my edits are more nitpicking and rewording paragraphs. That's why it's such a pain...

Sounds healthy to take a break. Writing fanfiction should be fun, and one should follow where one's passions lie. I know I got sick of writing Hyde after a while, as compelling as he is.

I wrote other characters and it was great. Exactly, and being stuck with editing is the exact opposite of fun. That's what's making writing Hyde difficult for me. He really is compelling and works so well with all my ideas, but I really do need a break.

I really like your Hyde, so this is sad, but luckily I still have a few things to catch up on.
Editing can be a pain in the ass, so I hope you find others that bring the fun back.

Hm... I think you've only read my Gackt x Hyde fics and I stopped writing that a few months ago so there wouldn't have been anything new with that couple anyway. I've moved on to Sakura x Hyde and my yakuza AU I dreamt about which won't really have a pairing until later.
Enjoy catching up on the last of my GxH fics though :)

I read one or two with Sakura I think? I don't know him too well, so they don't draw me in so much. I did however read some Gackt& You and just had that adorable one with K.A.Z. and Hyde.
Yakuza is awesome with or without pairings.
I shall ration what is left then and I am sure to let you know I enjoyed them ^^

Oh, you did? I guess I don't remember. That makes sense :) I have a handful of Gackt x You fics and I think two with Kaz and Hyde. Yes two.
I love writing my yakuza series. The first piece I wrote in that universe is called "Pride" and it's based on a dream I had. Chronologically it's set smack in the middle of my yakuza timeline so if you want to read the official first part that's called Heartbreak and Comfort. Takes a couple stories for Hyde to start working for the yakuza, but Gackt is his boss. He'll eventually have a thing for Hyde... you'll see that play out in the early parts. But that's very brief... then Hyde is a single man, but he'll eventually get his own lover.

I will definitively check your yakuza-verse out, it sounds interesting! Whenever I find a goldmine of fic I don't know I got for one-shots first though, maybe because i know I don't have to wait patiently for updates of those XD

All right. It's based on a dream I had... just had to write it!
Oh that makes sense. I'm usually the same xD What I like best is for a multi-chapter to be complete, because if it's really good I'll read through it all in a day or two depending on length because I get hooked on the story.
I'll probably start editing some more scenes from my yakuza series so I can get them posted. I keep jumping around in the timeline so I have a few from the beginning, then a bunch after Pride. I blame Hyde.

I guess taking a break is a good thing. What's the sense in writing Hyde if you don't enjoy writing him?

It really is. Well I liked writing Hyde, I just wasn't happy because the fics I had with him were ones I needed to edit. So that was just stressful.
I was really cold, but aside from that I had a good time. Oh I'll come back to Hyde someday. If not this month then definitely in October since I do have a few Halloween fics

Ohhh I see! Writing should never get stressful! I just cut it off the last few months for the same reason.

Well Hyde got bitchy and jealous because I dared to write his current lover of choice with another man so that broke my Hyde hiatus XD Selfish little brat doesn't want to share...
I'm trying to work on editing now though instead of writing new things. So I'll try to get some things cleaned up and posted then I can work on the Halloween ones

Um, I did post one Hyde related fic on Halloween. I've been writing scattered scenes with him but I have other muses wanting attention. I'm not writing fanfiction at the moment since I'm doing NaNoWriMo (national novel writing month)
So far that's going well
