Leaving this as public access

Hope everyone who got slammed by Hurricane Sandy has their power back. Watching the news and seeing pictures and videos is just horrible... it's like seeing the Day After Tomorrow again. And New York looking empty is just bizarre. Best wishes to everyone out there. 

I'm going to be kind of quiet on LJ for now since I decided to take part in NaNoWriMo this year. It was a totally last minute decision and I honestly didn't think I could do it. I'm 206 words away from reaching 10,000 words and I'll be able to get to that point once I start the next chapter. So far it's going well but I'll see how that lasts. My novel has a lot of dark themes so I'll need mindless fluff fic breaks so I don't get burned out with angst and despair. I've decided that (unless I can't handle it any more) every time I reach 10,000 words I'm going to take a break and either edit a fic so I can post it or write something new.
