NaNoWriMo = Complete

Phew, I have successfully completed my first (and most likely last) year of NaNoWriMo. I have written part of Fatal Mistakes almost every day this month. I’ve neglected other writing and I know I’ve neglected my school work in order to reach that 50,000 word goal.

The ideal of NaNoWriMo is to have a full novel written… but I can’t do that for this year’s NaNo. I’m out of ideas. I’ve been bullshitting the majority of Fatal Mistakes since Chapter 10. 

I’m at 73 pages (in Word) written in 12 point Times New Roman font. Word count: 50,057. 

There were times when I really wanted to just quit writing this damn thing and do something else but I persevered and I’m glad I wrote this story. Various incarnations of it have been circling in my head for the last two years. Ideas for this particular version have been in my head for two years. It was time to try writing Fatal Mistakes. Before I can continue on with the story, I’ll need to edit and clean up the mess I have. But I have a 73 page start and better ideas for how to continue. 

Now it’s time for a much deserved break! I've written some fics during my hiatus novel is pretty dark so I needed a break and will be going back to writing fanfiction. My first priorities are to compete my story for the Jrock Christmas exchange and then edit/post the sequel to Almost a Nightmare which has been sitting around gathering dust since September... oops... then after that I'm not sure what I'm going to write

Thank you! I've thought about doing it for a couple years now but never thought I'd be able to do it so decided not to bother. It was a pain but definitely worthwhile

waaa congratz! many have say nanowrimo is a path to death, so to complete it is an achievement on its own! :D

I really don't like what it does to my writing process :/ I have 18 chapters of what is basically garbage... I need to get a proper outline down, figure out what to keep and what to delete, and what to edit. That's a lot of work and I get stressed easily. Thank you!

I hadn't used page breaks but when I put them in I have 80 pages worth. Lol wow, that's a lot! Well to each their own. You might have shorter chapters too.
