Author's Comment: Realized it's been almost a month since I last updated this... I got distracted with other stories then I was busy and unmotivated. Trying to get more fics done since it's a long weekend and I don't have to go to class tomorrow.
Ken checked his watch to see how much time was left before the tour started. Still another four hours. What to do until then… he’d already had dinner, he didn’t feel tired enough to get some rest, and he wasn’t in the mood to listen to the songs he’d composed. He decided to read the manga he’d brought with him. Hyde had made fun of him for bringing a porn manga, but Ken had won the verbal banter.
“I actually don’t need this because I’ll probably have the room next to you so I get to hear Tetsu fucking you.”
Hyde had turned bright red, mumbled something, and rushed off while Ken smirked. Oh it was just so easy to tease Hyde. Which he’d have to do again later because he’d heard very suspicious noises coming from their room. Tetsu hadn’t been seeing much of Hyde lately though so now that they would be together for this trip… they probably had some serious “catching up” to do.
Ken pulled the manga and a pack of cigarettes out of his bag then sat down on the bed. He took a cigarette and his lighter out. He clicked the lighter, frowning as the flame abruptly went out. That was odd. The lighter was brand new; it shouldn’t be doing this. He tried again. This time the flame held for a little longer but extinguished as he held it towards the cigarette. He tried three more times before giving up, tossing the lighter aside in frustration. Ken had brought an extra lighter with him but Tetsu had confiscated it, insisting that Ken cut back on his smoking while they were on vacation. He’d have to wrestle it back from the bassist so he’d be able to smoke in peace.
He put the manga aside, deciding to just take a shower. He pulled his shirt off and headed towards the bathroom, pausing as he felt a rush of cold air. Was a window open? Ken didn’t remember seeing open windows and it wasn’t cold enough in the room to indicate that one was open. He turned around to see what the problem was. His eyes widened as he saw a pale woman with long hair and wearing an old-fashioned grey dress standing in the room. His cigarettes were in her left hand and his lighter was in her right. Who… who was this woman? The door hadn’t opened! Ken had locked it! He licked dry lips, wondering if it’d be possible to speak to her.
She held up the cigarettes, expression darkening as she crumbled them. “Bad,” she hissed. There was a watery quality to her voice, like she wasn’t able to communicate properly. She dropped the lighter and used both hands to further crush the unfortunate pack of cigarettes. Once she’d done enough damage, she dropped them on top of the lighter and crushed them under her heel. Her eyes locked with Ken’s. “Fire... dangerous,” she said, giving him a stern look before slowly fading away.
Ken gaped at the space where she’d just been. What the hell had just happened?

“I don’t know what to get,” Hyde grumbled, pouting as he looked at the vending machines. Yukihiro smiled as he nibbled on his chocolate. He’d been on his way to the vending machines to get a snack when he’d met Hyde, who had the same intentions. The vocalist had spent the last five minutes pacing in front of the vending machines and mumbling to himself. There were several options that looked appealing to him but he didn’t want to get them all.
“What do you want?” Yukihiro asked.
“Something sweet…”
“Get chocolate then.”
“But there’s more than one kind of chocolate,” Hyde complained. “I can’t decide!” He gave the vending machine a dirty look, as if it his indecision were the machine’s fault. In a way it was since it was giving him so many options. Hyde sighed softly then looked at his yen. “I guess I can just get two kinds. I could share with Tet-chan.”
Yukihiro blinked. “You share chocolate?”
Hyde scowled at him. “I know how to share food!”
Yukihiro decided not to respond to that. Sharing food with the vocalist was usually a bad idea as Hyde tended to eat everything. Then go look for more food since he was always hungry.
Hyde huffed at Yukihiro’s silence then looked back at the vending machine. He held up his finger then closed his eyes, waving his hand around. He opened his eyes again and grinned as he saw that he was pointing at a particularly tasting looking chocolate bar. “There, I’ll get this.” He put his money into the machine and pressed the button for the chocolate bar. Both men stared at the machine as, instead of the chocolate bar, a pack of peanuts fell down instead. “Peanuts?” Hyde pulled the package out and gave it a confused look. “But I wanted chocolate…”
“Try again?” Yukihiro suggested. Maybe there was something wrong with the vending machine.
“I guess.” Hyde put some more yen into the machine and pressed the button in front of the chocolate bar again. This time, the machine spit fruit snacks at him. Hyde scowled as he pulled the fruit snacks out. “What the hell? I want chocolate! I’m on vacation so why should I try to be healthy?”
Yukihiro stared at the vending machine, wondering what was going on with it. He’d never heard of a vending machine doing this before. Abruptly he shivered and rubbed his arms. He’d just felt so cold all of a sudden. Hyde didn’t seem to have felt the chill since he was still glaring at the vending machine. He grumbled curses at it. The hairs on the back of Yukihiro’s neck stood up as he heard a faint, ghostly sounding laugh. Slowly he turned his head but there was nothing in the hallway. Just the two of them. Had it been his imagination? Slowly he turned back to Hyde who was trying the vending machine again. This time, it gave him the chocolate he wanted.
“Finally!” Hyde snatched the chocolate out of the machine as if he feared it would take the junk food back.
“Did you…” Yukihiro sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. “Hear someone laughing?”
Hyde blinked at him. “No, I didn’t. Why? Did you?”
“I thought I heard this ghostly sounding laugh.”
“It’s just your imagination playing tricks on you.”
Yukihiro slowly nodded. Hyde was probably right. The mansion was famous for its ghost tours so it was supposed to make guests’ imaginations run wild. “I guess you’re right.” He sighed softly and finished his chocolate. Part of him believed Hyde but there was another part that believed he had truly heard the laugh.
Which part of him would win was another matter entirely.

Tetsu toweled off his wet hair then tied the towel around his waist. He’d decided to take a shower while Hyde made a snack run with Yukihiro. Hopefully his lover wouldn’t come back with a ton of chocolate… he tended to do that when they were on vacation. Then Hyde would inevitably eat too much and curl up in bed, complaining that he had a stomachache. Tetsu could never feel bad for him because it was Hyde’s own fault. One day he’d learn not to gorge himself on sweets.
He shook his head then picked up a washcloth, swiping it over the mirror to remove the condensation. He wanted to be able to see his hair so he could part it properly. Tetsu leaned down to pick up his comb and straightened, gasping as he saw a face reflected in the mirror. A man with curled hair and glowing eyes, dressed in an old fashioned suit was standing behind him. Tetsu spun around, heart beating rapidly as he saw that he was utterly alone in the bathroom. It felt cold though when it should have been hot from the steam of the shower. His pulse sped up as he slowly looked back over his shoulder. The face in the mirror was gone but the feeling of unease and fear still lingered in the bathroom. Trembling, Tetsu grabbed his clothes and rushed into the bedroom. He’d hoped to see Hyde on the bed with whatever junk food he’d bought but there was no sign of his lover. Shit… where was Hyde? Tetsu wanted him here so his skeptical, didn’t believe in ghosts lover could soothe his fears but he was also worried that something would happen to Hyde because of that skepticism.
Tetsu closed his eyes and tried to tell himself that it’d been his imagination. That he didn’t believe in ghosts. He’d thought about it before but always managed to convince himself that it was impossible for ghosts to exist. When he closed his eyes though he could see the face he’d seen in the mirror and quickly opened them again. Tetsu didn’t know how to explain what he’d seen but it had felt too real to be his imagination. The hairs on his neck and arms were still standing up and he was shaking. He wouldn’t be reacting this strongly if it was his imagination. Tetsu shuddered violently then hurried into his clothes. He didn’t want to stay in this room for another minute. Once he was dressed he threw the towel over his damp hair and rushed into the hallway. He needed to find Hyde…
Notes1) Next chapter is when the real story begins, I can't guarantee when that will come out because I'm thinking of ideas for it.
2) This will probably end up being 4 or 5 chapters too... I'll see if I need to change my chapter count once I start writing Chapter 3.

Date: 2013-02-11 12:38 am (UTC)Hyde will be very surprised when he encounters a ghost. And very freaked out.
The ghost was helping him though, it wanted him to be healthy XD Probably the same ghost that was messing with Ken. Tetsu just has a creeper ghost

Date: 2013-02-11 08:51 am (UTC)lol yeah okey a really "knows better" ghost, I think I would hate a ghost like that if that was me lol...but hmm just to point out that an old day ghost wouldn't know that smoking is unhealthy and chococolate either, because back in the day, as the clothes you described, they smoked worse things than know and smoking pibe was a high class thing, that even women did, and chocolate was also something you could enjoy in higher sociaties...So I wonder how the ghosts knows it is bad, when it wasnt in their days ^^ ...I hope you understand what I mean and it is just a miner detail...They didn't go that much into health back in the days like they do now :)

Date: 2013-02-11 09:03 am (UTC)It'd probably be best for me as I know if I eat better and lose more weight some of my self esteem issues will improve. Very true! It's so strange to think of people smoking pipes now... except for old men. No I understand what you mean. The ghost in Ken's room isn't reacting so strongly to the cigarettes because they're unhealthy, she hates the lighter/cigarettes because of fire. *goes to fix her dialogue* I realized earlier that my original idea was that the fire was what scared her and then forgot to correct it when I got back to my laptop
And decided the ghost trolling Hyde is a child. Maybe his mom never let him buy sweets out of the vending machines so he likes to mess with others XD

Date: 2013-02-11 12:24 pm (UTC)are yes fire, is a good idear ^^, then I understand the reaction more ^^ ...lol remember vending machines wasn't there back then either lol, so maybe you should just stick with sweets ^^

Date: 2013-02-17 12:54 pm (UTC)bratsmuses so I'm having fun writing them. There is my Hyde and Gackt and Sakura big AU I started last year that I do want to work on again. Echoed Warnings is so short that it'd be stupid not to finish it. Is that your fic you're talking about or one of mine? I have so many it's easy to get confused...no subject
Date: 2013-02-17 03:19 pm (UTC)hmm I don't think I know what that is the one with Hyde, Sakura and GACKT O_O

Date: 2013-02-17 11:17 pm (UTC)I've told you about it before I think. Hyde is forced to become a prostitute to pay off his debts and Sakura sees him when he's working and thus comes back into Hyde's life, Gackt is a policeman who is investigating Hyde's boss and gets a little too close to this case

Date: 2013-02-18 07:21 am (UTC)No I haven't been into that story, because I can't realte that much to it...

Date: 2013-02-18 07:28 am (UTC)I understand. I imagine Breaking the Habit was hard for you what with it being AU and all. I just hate writing realism so AU is the only way I can really contribute to the fandom anymore. I don't know how many people are going to read that fic... I know at least two... but at this point I need to write it for me and get this idea out of my head lol! Especially when Hyde starts losing it and thus I can bring in more muses... like Atsushi...
Not trying to push you to read or anything but even when I write AU I try to make it realistic and include some of the real person in my characters. Hyde's in debt because he went to art school. Actually this fic is kind of a sequel of sorts to Breaking the Habit as Hyde's relationship with Sakura goes down because of drugs.

Date: 2013-02-18 08:56 am (UTC)There's no link yet as I have scattered scenes from this fic written. And everything needs to be edited because I've changed the idea several times. Yes, Breaking the Habit is the fic where Sakura was addicted to heroin. You'll see how he's recovered from it and is trying to turn his around in this fic. Atsushi (he's my avatar now) is the vocalist of Buck-Tick :) He likes to sneak into my writing... sneaky muse.

Date: 2013-02-18 10:17 am (UTC)How is Atsushi linked to G, Hyde or Sakura in real life, I can't imagine somehow, if I don't know the IRL connection
no subject
Date: 2013-02-18 10:25 am (UTC)I'm pretty sure neither of them have met Atsushi in real life. But that's what's fun about AU, I can do whatever the hell I want and have people who don't know each other in RL meet anyway. I used to try to keep fic relations realistic but then got bored of that and went with the more creative route

Date: 2013-02-18 11:08 am (UTC)reluctantlythis weekend so that'll give me time to work. All right thanks for having an open mind towards my new fics :) If you're anxious about characters that you don't think have any connection to Hyde or whoever.. they don't come in until later in the story. Maybe Chapter 15... if my outline is still correct. There is some GakuHai in the beginning. Then later there's a lot of onesided with Gackt trying to get closer to Hyde and get him interested again

Date: 2013-02-18 11:22 am (UTC)I definitely won't start working on it until I finish the jrock/Alice in Wonderland dream crossover I'm working on. And the L'Arc story. After that though... maybe

Date: 2013-02-22 02:40 pm (UTC)I thought Ken was going to be in trouble at first but it was just a warning. Somehow the 'fire bad' and giving Hyde non-chocolate makes me feel like the ghost is trying to have them be healthy and safe. Which probably isn't the case XD
I actually don’t need this because I’ll probably have the room next to you so I get to hear Tetsu fucking you.
This made me chuckle. Oh Ken.
he was pointing at a particularly tasting looking chocolate bar
I think you typo-ed with the 'tasting'? ^^;
Anyway, waiting for next part! Must update <3

Date: 2013-02-22 11:29 pm (UTC)The vending machine part was fun to write XD
No, the ghosts in this hotel aren't violent... unless you piss them off. Well the lady in Ken's room is deathly afraid of fire so she gets upset whenever someone tries to smoke in the building.
As for the vending machine - I've decided that one is the ghost of a child that likes to mess with people because his mom never let him get sweets out of the vending machines when they visited XD
Ken's such a perv
That should be "tasty" yes... thanks for pointing that out, so easy to overlook typos
I'll see if I can get it out this weekend. I'm just pretty unmotivated with this story. There's not enough interesting/creative details in it for it to hold my interest

No worries~ You should write what you feel like working on. Was just letting you know that I'll be waiting for this regardless :D

Date: 2013-02-25 05:45 am (UTC)It does... it's very annoying
