Phew, writing this took forever... I need to pause and do homework/study/go over material for tomorrow (and eat dinner) but after that I'll try to get the report for MUCC done.

This is about 7 pages in word so it's pretty long. Mostly me fangirling, trying to recall exact song details, and more fangirling...

D Bon Voyage
Location: Osaka Muse Hall
Date: March 29 (Friday)

This was my first time seeing D and also my first FC only live. I’ve never joined an artist’s fanclub before… there were times I thought about doing it but I’ve always held back, until D released their international fanclub. At first I was hesitant and for a while it seemed like I wasn’t going to get my money’s worth out of Ultimate Lover Global but since coming to Japan I am extremely grateful that I chose to become a member. I’ve been able to order goods and get tickets for lives very easily. So joining turned out to be a good idea!

Well, I’ve never been to Osaka Muse Hall before and I suck at finding places so I left the mall I’d been lurking around a little early in the hopes of finding Osaka Muse Hall. I asked some people for directions along the way because I suck at navigating Google Maps… through trial and error (and asking more people for directions) I was able to find Osaka Muse Hall. I saw some D fangirls gathered around the D poster outside so joined them in taking pictures then followed them inside. Osaka Muse Hall is in this small-ish building so we took the elevator up to the floor. ULG members pay for/pick up their tickets at the ticket window so I went over to that and got my ticket

Beyond the ticket window was a small waiting area with a staircase going up and another going down. I’d seen some fans going up so decided to try my luck by going upstairs and seeing if the goods were up there. Goods were the next floor up as were the coin lockers. I wasn’t sure what all I wanted to get… the tote bag, the t-shirt, and the muffler towel were a must so I bought those and was looking at the other goods. I wanted to get the black charm bracelet but they only had it in white so I decided to hold off. Kind of wish I’d bought the white one now but oh well, I’ll try to get my hands on it at the 10th Anniversary Live. I felt like I should buy the flags but I had to get on the night bus after the live and didn’t want to try hauling flags around Tokyo… so I just bought those three goods then turned to the coin lockers. There were a group of Japanese fans nearby so, feeling like a dumb foreigner, I asked one girl how to use the coin locker since I hadn’t used one before. Then I saw we had the exact same boots on so we were laughing about that. I found out two of her friends were from Shiga too so we got to chat while they showed me the ways of the coin locker. Once I’d put my stuff away I was left with my phone, change purse/ticket and locker key wondering what to do with all this stuff since I’ve always had my bag when I see lives. Ended up stuffing everything down the side of my boots… which seemed to work. Good thing I wore those boots, they’re great for storing my stuff!

Found a bathroom so I could change into the D shirt then went back to the waiting area. Basically loitered there until my number was called… because we were pretty much crowded into that small waiting area and spilling down onto the second staircase I had a good view for people watching. For the most part people were in normal clothes – concert t-shirts and skirts or pants. There were more than a few Lolitas present and the majority of the foreigners that came were in Lolita outfits. I thought I would see more cosplayers too but there was only one. She was cosplaying Hide-Zou’s look in太陽を葬る日. There was another girl with the same boots I had on too. I chose well, they’re popular apparently. Anyway waiting there sucked since it was so damn crowded and I realized too late that I’d been backed against an ash tray so there are a couple little burn holes in my skirt L I don’t know how to sew so I’m going to have to do a ghetto fix of putting a sticker on the holes so my skirt doesn’t rip when I wash it…

Well anyway it was eventually time to go upstairs so I followed the crowd inside. There was a table with flowers for D and baskets to put gifts in. I hadn’t thought of bringing gifts so I didn’t have any to give… there was also a girl passing out pamphlets for the venue but I didn’t want to have to hold a pamphlet during the live so I ended up not getting one. Went inside and was immediately amazed because I had never been in a venue this small. I absolutely love all three BUCK-TICK shows I went too and I was able to see them in a relatively small venue, but in comparison D’s venue was pretty small. I loved it already since I knew I would be able to SEE properly. I was on the right side and sort of in the middle of the crowd so I knew I’d have good views of Asagi. I was on Ruiza’s side so I was able to ogle him (and Tsune) quite easily. The stage layout was pretty simple. A black flag with D’s new design was hanging behind Hiroki’s drums and then mic stands/amps were set up. If there were other decorations I’m blanking… but the stage was elevated high enough that it was easy to see over everyone’s heads.

After what felt like an eternity D started coming out! Cue mad screams and me ogling like a creep because they are all absolutely gorgeous in person. I literally could not stop staring at Tsunehito because he is SO CUTE! And Asagi is just beautiful… as are Ruiza’s thighs (and him in general). I had a lovely view of those since he liked jumping up on center stage. Good man, Rui! Show off those legs. They didn’t have any changes in their costumes but Ruiza had his hair pulled back into a ponytail with some pieces falling down around his face. And as much as I love his dark hair it looks kind of bad when paired with blonde extensions. But otherwise he was gorgeous. Hell, they all were.

I can’t remember the exact order but Asagi came out last. Vocalist always comes out last it seems since Atsushi and Tatsurou did the same thing. Once everyone was in place Asagi greeted us then everyone introduced themselves. Tsune had his tongue pierced. I’m trying to remember if he’s had it pierced before or not. Being the shameless pervert I am was thinking of how that could come into play in a fic LOL. I’m a horrible person. Anyway, Asagi soon began the live. I thought I’d be more prepared for D and would know the songs they were playing since I’ve been listening to D for I think a year now… maybe not quite a full year… but there were a lot of songs I just did not know so as usual I can’t give out a good set list. To the best of my knowledge, I’ve made a set list but it’s either out of order or incomplete so it’s more of an “I know they played these songs” list.

Intro
Dearest you
Something
繭月の棺
Pause so D can demonstrate how we should be using our flags.
闇より暗い慟哭のアカペラと薔薇より赤い情熱のアリア
I gave up on keeping a set list… I at least remember the encores somewhat well. Sorry I’m so bad at set lists!

Encore 1
Toki no Koe
??

Encore 2
7th Rose

Encore 3
Pride(?)

D started off right away with their intro and then “Dearest you”. Asagi’s voice… wow. He is truly amazing live. There’s just so much talent and power with that voice. He was mostly up on his center platform but sometimes he’d move around to lean on Ruiza (he was very cuddly with Ruiza, I made note of their fanservice for you horny shippers) but sometimes he’d go visit Hide-Zou and Tsunehito too. It was mostly putting an arm around them or leaning against them but he did get a hug from Ruiza later, which was adorable.

Ergh… don’t have much to say for the main set other than that their performance was amazing and they were all so genuinely happy to be there. Tsunehito had this huge happy smile on his face (and watching his hair when he was head banging was funny) I almost had a giggle fit thinking of the Muppets’ version of Rumpelstiltskin and how Tsune’s hair looked like Rumpelstiltskin’s hair… then later I remembered my friend talking about this horrible pirate porno she found a few years ago and I had to try so hard not to bust out laughing because seeing D in their pirate outfits was making me think of that stupid porno. Oh god my mind.

Seeing them was just amazing and I could feel their energy and their happiness to be there. They were all smiling and seeing them live is just incredible… I knew D is a good band but seriously, they’re meant to be seen live. They are absolutely amazing. I did score tickets to Nagoya’s live but it was on a Monday so I ended up not going because it was a school night. After seeing them in Osaka I wish I had gone but oh well, too late now. I’m at least seeing them for their anniversary.

Ah what else… Hide-Zou and Tsunehito were pretty affectionate too. Sometimes they’d play facing each other and while I couldn’t see Hide-Zou very well Tsunehito had this huge happy smile as he was bobbing his head along with the music and playing. Watching them interact was adorable. Although I bet poor Hide-Zou got pretty hot with all that hair… then Asagi with his coat… Asagi is just so graceful too since he’d be up on stage and just pause when he wasn’t singing or lift up part of his coat. It was always nice when he did that since I got a nicer view of his legs! Even though I was on Ruiza’s side it was easiest to see Asagi and Tsunehito so I mostly looked at them but I gave Rui his fair share of attention too. Oh my god that man… he keeps making these orgasm faces when he’s playing. Someone’s happy to be there XD It was really hard to see Hiroki so I can’t talk about him much.

Sometime during the live they paused and started talking about the new flag routine. I couldn’t catch all of this but I understood enough to get what was going on, and I just had to look at the other fans and mimic what they were doing if I hadn’t caught what Asagi said.

Asagi gets his flags and is standing at his mic then says this is probably our first time doing this (the new routine) Chorus of yes from the fans. He started explaining what he wants to do and Ruiza made a motion with his arm like a wave (ocean wave, not waving to someone) in an indication of what we should do. Then Tsunehito was all “No it’s like this” and was using both arms to demonstrate which was cute so I joined in with some of the other fangirls yelling かわいい!Tsunehito looked a bit startled then Asagi was smiling “Oh you think he’s cute?” while we all yell yes. Because he is of course. Then Tsunehito started pointing at Hide-Zou, who came up to them, and I think he was trying to take credit for the wave motion Tsune made? I’m not really sure… anyway it was cute.

As everyone whips out their flags I’m thinking “Shit, I am the only person here without flags…” and wishing I’d bought them. The woman next to me noticed I didn’t have any flags so offered me one of hers. She was so sweet! Whenever we had to use our flags she loaned me one so I would be able to participate. I was really grateful for that. I’m not quite sure how to describe the flag song but we all demonstrated and it was really cool to see the fans jumping in a wave motion with their flags. It’s like this ocean of flags rolling towards you… I bet it looked awesome up on stage. Asagi seemed pleased with us so we at least didn’t fail miserably with the flags.

After the flag dance (for lack of a better word) they went back to performing but for the life of me I can’t remember what they played.

As always I lose track of time during concerts as I’m just so into the music. So when it was time for the main set to be over it was pretty jarring. I’m thinking wait already? Noo… Asagi was such a sweetheart though. He kept thanking us, telling us how grateful he was to have us all here. Then he asked how many of us were going to the anniversary live and almost every hand in that room was raised. Asagi’s face just lit up and he was saying “Everyone’s coming!” All of them were so happy to know that most of us would be seeing them for their anniversary. Asagi said his goodbyes then left the stage and Ruiza, Tsune, and Hide-Zou threw picks and a couple water bottles into the audience before following after Asagi. Hiroki threw his drumsticks then followed them too.

As soon as the lights went dark everyone started chanting “encore” and clapping. My ears were ringing from the music but I joined in with yelling encore and clapping. Waiting to see if the band will do an encore or not is always painful but I assumed D would do one since they’d just been so happy to see us all there!

I wasn’t wrong.

Encore 1

Everyone rushed back out on stage. Asagi, Tsune, and Hide-Zou were still wearing their costumes but Ruiza and Hiroki had dressed down slightly. They’d traded their coats and costume shirts for tour t-shirts instead. Ruiza in a t-shirt and his “pants” was just glorious as I had an amazing view of his legs. Holy fuck those legs are beautiful. And he knows it too, the tease. Ruiza was also wearing the tour bag. I was thrown off at first when the majority of the first encore was just D talking but I loved how they did it… it made them feel more human and oh god they made me laugh so hard I cried sometimes.

Ruiza would take tour goods out of his bag, explain what they were, then encourage the fans to buy them. First he takes out the pamphlet then holds it up so we can see. He was saying it was so かっこいい then asks what was most かっこいい (I’m deliberately avoiding translating this because it can translate to cool/handsome—you use かっこいい to describe good-looking men—and it’s sometimes tricky figuring out context). There was a moment of silence then one girl yells “Ruiza!” And he’s all “EXACTLY” while Asagi starts giggling. Then Ruiza jumps up on Asagi’s platform (Asagi was kind of back between Ruiza and Hiroki) and starts posing. I was confused at first, wondering what he was doing, then he starts pointing at Hide-Zou and smirking. Apparently he was imitating Hide-Zou’s pose on the pamphlet as that made him start laughing. Then Ruiza went back to his spot so he could continue showing off the tour goods. He started with what was in the bag first, showing the rose watch, the pouch, the phone strap, and the bracelet which he was modeling. He was really funny about it and Asagi was obviously trying not to bust out laughing but couldn’t hold in his laughter at one point since he started laughing. Mostly he stood there shaking with his hand hovering over his mouth. Cutie. Next Ruiza takes out one of the photosets but used the red rose pouch to cover his eye. Asagi notices this and points at himself while smiling, then starts giggling again. Troll Ruiza strikes again!

With teasing Hide-Zou and Asagi a success, Ruiza went to Asagi’s platform to show off the tour t-shirt. This was glorious as I could ogle his legs so well. I sound like such a creep but ah well ogling is what I did. He showed us front and back views and when he turns around he moved his ponytail over his shoulder so we could see the print on the back of the shirt (Or the pervs like me look at his ass) then he turned around again and said something I don’t remember but he showed off his slutty side by dropping his legs open like a professional stripper, running his hands over his thighs, and yelling “Double H!” with a truly terrible pronunciation but his legs were so pretty I forgive him. I’m not sure what “Double H” means but I’ll have to look that up as I’m very curious now.

Ruiza went back to his spot after that and it was Hide-Zou’s turn to talk. He greeted us then was saying that because we were in Osaka he wanted to try some Kansai-ben. (Osaka is in the Kansai Prefecture and the main dialect there is called Kansai Ben) I know about three words of Kansai Ben so the majority of his part went over my head. He mentioned practicing though, which impressed the fans, and then he started speaking so judging by fan reactions his Kansai Ben wasn’t that great. Asagi and Tsune also came over and bumped into him, playfully, so I guess they weren’t fans either. He tried at least! Then Hide-Zou was saying that English pronunciation is also difficult. I wanted to yell out “It’s true!” but didn’t want to be disruptive. Then he said “I love you” in very good English. He said it again and Ruiza giggles and turns his mic towards himself so he can talk. “When Hide-Zou leaves voicemails he’ll be all ‘Ah, Rui-chan…’ then add an I love you in there.” Cuties.

It was Tsunehito’s turn to talk next but he didn’t say too much. I couldn’t understand what he was saying but he seemed to be laughing at Hide-Zou. Poor guy is the butt of the jokes tonight. Asagi kept having giggle fits while everyone was talking.

After Tsunehito it was time for Hiroki. He was still sitting at his drums so first he asks if the fans can see him. We say yes then realize “wait a minute” so start yelling 見られない!(Can’t see) He seemed to realize we were trolling him but as everyone starts chanting his name he did come out to Asagi’s platform. For the life of me I can’t remember what he said but when he looked like he wanted to go back to his drums, Asagi had taken his spot and was playing a little which made the fans giggle since Hiroki looked surprised and Asagi looked pretty pleased with himself.

Asagi’s turn was next and he was thanking the fans for coming there, talking a little about the 10th anniversary live, and saying that even now they get nervous before performing so seeing us always makes it better. Sweetie. Once Asagi was done talking they started playing Toki no Koe next.

Some other song where we used the flags was next but I don’t remember it…

Then, as before, Asagi left the stage first (after thanking us) and picks and drum sticks were thrown into the audience before the band left the stage. I pulled my phone out of my boot to check the time and about had a heart attack as I saw it was 9:30 and first bus is leaving at 10:30. I would have to get from the venue to the bus station which can be tricky to navigate as I hadn’t been to Osaka Muse before… kept being anxious and wondering if I should leave just in case but I really didn’t want to! I stuck around, waiting to see if D would come back to do a second encore. They did of course. This time they played 7th Rose (possibly another song but I can’t remember) then said their goodbyes and took a while departing the stage.

People were once again clapping for the encore so I decided to try sticking it out. After about five minutes of waiting I started heading towards the back of the room but once I’d made it a couple rows away from my spot the lights came back on and D was back!

Sometimes Asagi introduces songs and I think he said this song was called “Pride” but as I don’t have every D song in my music library I’m not sure if I heard correctly or not. This song was very peaceful and mellow… I would have enjoyed it more if I hadn’t been panicking about whether I would be able to make my bus or not but I tried to relax so I could enjoy what was clearly a beautiful song. I had to leave early on their goodbyes but as I’d already seen them saying their goodbyes I decided it was okay to leave. Went back to my locker and thought about getting more goods but decided to wait since I was worried about time.

…Ended up making my bus in time and the bus didn’t leave for another 15 minutes so I could have so bought more goods. Grr! Well, I’ll just get there early for the anniversary so I can buy the other goods I want. And my bus doesn’t leave until midnight that day so I won’t have to worry about being late.

=)

I went to the same concert, from Chile..I went to both days....fortunately I went in the morning of the first day and I saw part of the sound test and I could talk with ruiza, I met him in Chile and he invited me to the stage in Osaka while we were talking..I met Hiroki too ...I'm also a guitarist so we talked a lot about his equipment...It was an amazing concert, I'm happy you enjoyed it!
