D 10th Anniversary Live
May. 5th, 2013 10:32 pmTitle: Bon Voyage 10th Anniversary Live
Date: April 12
Location: Shibuya Kokaidou
I had a good idea of where it was because my map showed it was by NHK Hall, and I'd been there to see MUCC. Lol when I was asking someone for directions and showing him the venue map he said the map was difficult to read and I agree. It was a shitty map. Once I approached the venue and saw the mass of people lined up I figured I was in the right place. People were in line early to get goods so I joined the line... was able to get what I wanted, but I didn't get the rose pouch in red and couldn't get the bracelet in black like I wanted.
After getting my goods I chatted with some of the other foreigners then took pictures of the cosplayers.
Once it was time to go inside, I received a red rose pen and took flower pictures before heading to my seat.

My ticket was in Row 11 and I was on Ruiza’s side again. My seat was basically at the end of the stage so I just moved over to the empty seats next to me so I could get a better view. I could see the stage really well and I am so, so glad I did not get stuck in the balcony. I was happy for D since it was a big livehouse (big enough to have a balcony section) and there were cameras in the seats behind me and scattered throughout the room. I wonder when the DVD will come out? I’ll definitely have to buy it! The stage was set up in the usual D style with the giant flag up behind Hiroki’s drums. There was a screen hanging up at the right corner of the stage too along with a ship on the other side.
The lights go off and D’s intro song starts playing. Everyone starts clapping and getting really excited and then Hiroki runs out on stage. Tsunehito came next, then Hide-Zou, then Ruiza, and Asagi was last as usual. They all introduced themselves and thanked everyone for coming. I could just see them glowing since they were so happy to be there.
Asagi had his giant Night Ship D flag with him so it was obvious that Night Ship D would be the first song played. And I was right.
For the other songs, I’m not certain of the order but I definitely remember them playing
Dearest you
7th rose
Sleeper
Bon Voyage!
Dead Rock (flags used for both)
In the name of justice
Der König Der Dunkelheit
Eden
薔薇色の日々- with rose pens
太陽
繭月の棺
For this live there was the main set and then three encores with VERY little time in between them. D obviously wanted to be up on stage!
There was a pause before Bon Voyage was played. Asagi thanked everyone for coming (he was always thanking the fans) and asked if we’d seen the cameras around the room. We said yes and he beamed and said the live would be made into a DVD. More cheers for the fans. Then he gets his flags ready. Bon Voyage was first and Asagi mentioned that for some people it would be their first time doing this so the first version would just be practice. He was joking that the practice version could be cut from the DVD if we wanted but I don’t think the fans wanted him to cut it. I’d done this before in Osaka so had a general idea of how everything was supposed to go. The wave motion of fans jumping with their flags is pretty impressive to see… if done well! We messed up a few times and the balcony definitely was the worst as Asagi was giggling and saying the second floor needed some more practice. But then we began our real version and the screen came on to show the fans waving with their flags. I looked for me sometimes but mostly just looked at Asagi. At some point the camera tilted sideways so that looked really weird… I’m wondering what they’ll do for the actual DVD but we ended up getting everything right for this version so Asagi was happy.
I think Dead Rock was next as I remember us using the flags again.
薔薇色の日々 was sweet because Asagi asked us to take out our rose pens and hold them up. We would just stand and wave them while he sang. I think he had his own rose pen too. This is such a pretty song so I’m glad I was able to hear it live.
My memories of this live (and most) are scattered so I’ll just focus on moments now. There were several short MCs throughout the live where the members would thank the fans for coming, talk about their goals for the future, and all end with a bow and sayingよろしくお願いします. They all talked about how they’re going to work harder.
Tsunehito and Hide-Zou were always the closest and they would often play facing each other and smiling. They hi-fived each other at one point, it was cute. These two are just too adorable together. It’s so easy to see how close they are.
The members would all alternate where they were standing. I had visits from everyone on my side and sometimes they would all cluster up front or stand in front of Hiroki’s drums.
Asagi did his usual routine of singing and cuddling one of the members. Sometimes he’d hold the mic in their face so they could cheer or say something to the fans then he’d run off. He cuddled Ruiza the most, which is what he does for the majority of the lives he’d seen. I know that will make some of you fangirls very happy.
Ruiza makes… interesting faces when he’s playing. He’ll bend his back and make this orgasm face then smile and straighten up. Silly man.
Asagi slung his arm around him and bit his neck at some point. Then he pulled back, holding his sleeve up over his mouth like Dracula. I’m pretty sure Ruiza was making an orgasm face at this point.
During one of the MCs, Tsunehito was talking and teasing Asagi. I couldn’t understand what he was saying but Asagi went over and hugged him. My shipper heart about fell out as I saw them hugging on stage. So cute!
For some of the songs Asagi would have the huge Night Ship D flag or the regular flags (He was always using the anniversary ones). He also had a gun, a whip, and a spyglass. He would lick the gun or the whip every so often and use his spyglass to peer out into the audience.
It was cute to see Tsunehito bouncing in a circle in his wild platforms while still playing his bass. He could do this without falling, which I found impressive. I would probably faceplant if I tried that.
At one point in the live 10th anniversary ribbons burst out of the ceiling and started falling. The girl next to me handed me one since she saw me reaching pathetically for it and after the live I went back and picked up a few more.
After the main set ended the fans barely had time to start chanting encore because the screen, which usually just displayed D’s logo, came on. First it played a few scenes from Night Ship D – mostly just Asagi looking around though. Then it changes to show future plans. They announced that they had signed on with Victor Entertainment (BUCK-TICK was with them for about 12 years… maybe more… so I’m guessing it’s a good label), the Vampire Story game, and then what made the fans scream the loudest was the announcement of the summer tour. I’m happy that they’re touring but at the same time kind of sad because I won’t be here for the summer tour and I would just love to keep seeing D lives.
After this they came out to perform again. For the life of me I can’t remember what songs they played during this encore. They did their MCs where they thanked everyone though, then did their usual leaving the stage routine of hifives, pick throwing, and waving.
I can’t remember the second encore… the live was kind of a blur while I was there because I was having so much fun.
The final encore began with D walking out on stage carrying champagne. One of them, either Hide-Zou or Tsune, was carrying two glasses because Asagi was carrying the wine bottle. They came up to the center of the stage and Asagi showed off the wine bottle then set it down in front of Hiroki’s drums. They raised their glasses and rude Hide-Zou sipped his while the others were toasting. Then they all started laughing at him. He laughed too and quickly touched his glass to theirs to make a proper toast.
A staff member came to collect their glasses and then they got ready to play. I’m pretty sure Der König der Dunkelheit was during this encore. When Asagi would move his shoulders like he does in the PV his coat would flap open to show off his legs. I quite enjoyed that view.
I can’t remember if other songs were played during the final encore but when the show was ending they all came out with roses and would throw them into the audience. Asagi sometimes kissed the roses before throwing them. I was too far back to get any roses but watching them was adorable.
Once the last rose had been thrown they all clustered up front and took hands. The audience quickly did the same and then, still holding hands, D all jumped together and we did the same thing. After much waving and smiling D walked off the stage and the live was over.
I’m sorry that this live report isn’t as detailed as they usually are. The 10th Anniversary Live came a few days before my Japanese final so once I got back to Hikone I had to study and didn’t have much time to devote to live reports. Then I was graduating, packing, dropping off my luggage at my cousin’s and just collapsing there, and then it was off to Tokyo to see my best friend. I’ve just now had the energy to devote to writing live reports.
