Time for a new community?

I've been thinking about this for a while. The only community for D fanfiction writers is nightshippers. But.... nightshippers is completely inactive. I tried submitting something to it last year, and nothing happened. The community is as good as dead in my opinion.

I did send an email to symphonie_rose (Tagging you on this post just in case you don't get to my email) asking about reviving the community and adding myself as a moderator since I'm always around and am capable of being an active moderator. I haven't gotten a response back yet but I just sent the email yesterday so I'm not expecting immediate communication

Depending on the response I'll get, I'll take action from there. But... I'm wondering... would it just be better to start from scratch and start up a whole new community?

With a new community, readers won't have to worry about dead links or inactive journals. It'd be nice to stick with nightshippers because it's already known as the D fanfiction community, but it's been inactive for so long.

What do you think? Would it be better to start anew? If I did end up making a new fanfiction community I would need:

• A name (thinking ultimate lover or some variation of that. ultimatelover and ultimate-lover are unavailable)


• A D layout (Either use a premade layout or come up with a different layout and just have a D header made)


• Interest. Who else will post D fanfiction? Do people like the thought of this idea?

I don't write/post fanfiction but I'll join the community if you make one. ^^ And I would prefer a new community over the old one (so there would not be dead links hanging around). :)

All right. The more I think about it the more a new community seems better... but I'll wait until I've gotten some more responses.

Well, I would certainly be interested in the idea. I write D fanfiction, and submitted a couple of pieces to nightshippers a while back, but like you, received no reply. If you needed someone to co-admin, then I'm on quite a lot, though it's up to you. As for names and headers, I suck at both of those, but I could try to give you a hand if you decide to go ahead with it.

Good to hear. It's frustrating that there is never any communication from nightshippers. All right, I'd love the help with that.

Well... I ended up deciding to just make a community. I decided to just go with a version of "ultimate lover" since that is the official name for D fans. ultimatelovers was available and I decided to quickly make the community before the name was taken.

It just seems best to start fresh anyway. There's not much to do for headers right now but if you wouldn't mind making some icons that'd be great!

No problem :) OMG I am STILL waiting! I was going to email them yesterday but what with all the VAMPS excitement I forgot! I'm gonna do it in a bit! I thought today might have been the day but it was CD Japan again. I think its got lost or something :( its been way too long now :(
